Hi all... I have a VY 03 commodore exec...i had it for 2 years and recently after seperating from my husband decided to trade in on a smaller car and found out by a holden dealer that it was an ex rental car ..i had brought it at 6months old with 11000ks on it and paid 26k only to be now told cause its an ex rental its worth 12k..very very VERY pissed off..GRRRRRRRRR:b: we had spent thousands on it with the suspension and 17inch rims and lots more![]()

Sounds like they are trying to get one over you.... I doubt very much a rental company would keep a car for 6 months. No way would they get rid of it with only 11,000 k's on it..
Surely there is an owners manual in the glove box from when you bought it, have a look at that....
or I would go to another car yard and sell there...... Mind you 12K trade for a VY 03 sounds about right... you are better of selling it yourself privately.

Spot on Ludacris, I think they are trying to do one over you, sounds like a typical car dealer trying to take advantage of a female.Originally Posted by Ludacris
Like Ludacris said sell it privately you will get a lot more for it than any dealer will offer you and can I suggest taking a male friend who knows a little about cars. You will definitely get a better deal from those blood sucking moles.
Cheers
i worked in a rental place and they never had falcons or commies cos the insurance was higher. and picking up cars from auctions i never picked up either. always magnas and camrys etc. only government or government funded agencies ever had them as they didn't have to pay government taxes on them so when they sold them they got about the same amount back from when they bought them.
i remember a few years ago i returned home from the US for two years, we hired a car from avis. they had plenty of VY execs. it was the first time i ever saw a VY actually
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
I have hired many a commodore and falcon from Dasfleet, which was then, National, which then become europcar.
As for the dealer, ex rental hey, how does he know? Ask him to prove it, if he spins some shit, just mention fair trades etc.
I'd be keeping the VY... Nice looking Reliable safe car...
Avis Mackay has stacks of VY execs and a few VZ calais![]()

with the value of commodores dropping so much over 2 years,i will never buy another one....unless u got the money to upgrade every few years i dont think they are worth it ,although i love my baby and will be sad to let her go...i had always loved commodores since i was a little girl.

Wow, I really should have waited and sussed out private prices out alot more. In September I paid $14.8k for my 2002 VX with 150,000kms on it. Then had to pay rego 3 days later.
I won't be doing that again.
