very very nice, some lovely accelaration there, i once went for a drive in a twin turboed 20b series 6 rx-7 auto...felt a hell of alot quicker than a manual.

That's booste, the reason it was lagging so much is because of the size of his turbo, i'd easily say around 20-30psi booste there for that ammount of lag.

Yeah, it sounded like a turbo spooling up, but that boost is friggin huge.. I didn't realise a turbo could do that much..

How the hell would he do that though?

I have no idea with forced induction.. Rev it up in neutral and quickly shift into gear, probably first? But if it's an auto, there wouldn't be a clutch, which would make it easy to snap a tranny..

To spool up the turbo, doesn't he need certain engine revs?

Stall it up and off you go, he slowed down to catch a lower gear in the kickback, while it's stalling the turbo has a chance to wind up.

In an auto, so he kicked back to probably 2nd or 3rd (or flicked off the O/D button).. Maintained a constant distance, despite downshifting and the engine reving up.. And once the turbo spooled up, then what?

I didnt think much about Jap cars either... now I own one and dont think much about my bros commodore or any other really unles its modded... and i mean modded.

I respect alot of jap car's, i just hate the one's that have low rpm blow off's with huge canons that do **** all and woudl probably run 20 second 1/4's

my car has an after market blow off valve set to vent to atmosphere (vroom pshhht noise)... it flutters at low rpm... infact ever since i got an apexi pod it started fluttering... i cant change the noise unles i plumb it back fully... some people like the noise, others hate it... i may get sick of it soon and do 50 plumback and 50 atmo
but then again my car definately goes under 20 seconds to 400 m
