The liger is the world's largest big cat. An average male liger weighs over 900 pounds and standing almost 12 feet tall.

The reason that they are called a liger is because the father was a lion and the mother was a tiger.

If the situation was reversed and the mother was a lion and the father was a tiger, he would be called a tigon, and would be a dwarf instead of a giant. A fully grown tigon is usually less that 350lbs.

A 3-pound cat in Pekin, Ill., has been verified as the world's smallest domestic cat. The 2-year-old cat, named Mr. Peebles, is officially listed as the smallest living domestic cat by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Mr. Peebles lives in the Good Shepherd Veterinary Clinic in Pekin. The clinic's employees serve as collective co-owners.

A doctor at the clinic said that Mr. Peebles has a genetic defect. And he's expected to hold onto his title for some time.

Because he's already past the age when a cat reaches normal size, Mr. Peebles probably won't get any bigger, according to the report. - Local6

They eat a lot and because of that that they also shit a lot and would need a lot of care and a big big yard.
