Just wondering if anybody knows how the backpedal brakes on a pushbike work and if so, how to fix em?

Yeh....your spring inside the 1pce crackset is fa'kuked....The one piece set up is a bitch....its not actually in the rear sprocket. Pull your crankset apart but id say it has something to do with the spring in there....confused on why you want back pedals anyway...compression luckup as to say?? 3pce Black Widow with a casset hub....mmmmm clickty Clack!

Anyway....the secret lies in the crankset...somewhere...

Cheap from a bike shop or just find another old wheel and swap it over.
You'll find the current one is beyond repair.

    My Dragster story:
I dont have a photo but I picked up a Dragster complete with Tbar gearshift (gears inside the rear hub), banana seat and a long, long sissy bar.
Delivering parcels one day and saw it in a skip bin, asked the owner and he said "yeh take it".
Cleaned it up, adjusted everything and it all still worked.
Always wanted one as a kid but my parents couldn't afford it.
For a laugh I rode it to the local shop, changing gears up and down all the way, about 2ks.
A guy at the shop couldn't believe it and offered to buy it. I said no but he followed me home. I got a bit concerned thinking he was a nut job. I knew he was a nut job when he offered me $300 for it. I was surprised and sort stammered no. He then offered $400 so I said make it $500, thinking he was joking. He said OK, said he was going to the bank and would come back.
He did and paid $500 for it. He then told me he collected old dragsters and Oddballs etc and had never seen one as good. Then he crushed me by saying he bought another one with no front wheel, no sissy bar and a broken seat for $1200 the year before.
I'vebeen looking for another one ever since.

    Sorry for highjacking the thread.

thats $500 you didnt have to start with...
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.

When you pedal backwards the sprocket wich has a screw thread twists into
a cylinder type grip tube and a pair of
pads fit on each side on the outside of the tube wich is shaped so that when the pedals are revrsed the the twist tube pushes the pads into the inside of the hub and it tries to turn the
axle but cant because it should be strapped to the frame.
