Hahahahah.. I've heard that story a million times from different servo workers, (all happening to young kids with their new first cars).. Never thought it would actually happen..Originally Posted by kirkson
The only thing I find suss is that someone who doesnt know what an oil dipstick is for, knows what the rockers are.. And how do you see that the oil has gone to the top of the rockers, without removing the covers? Might just get a little peep in where the filling point is, but hmm..
hhaha classic......... Thankgod i was never that stupid..

VY works currently in PRODUCTION!!
Engine will still be sloow!!!!! ;-)
I used to work at a servo, we had a chick come in one day had her little mazda for 2 weeks. We later found she had grabbed a 500ml top up bottle, from a stand on the driveway, then another, then a 5L bottle then another 5L bottle. She had decided to "top" up her oil. About 8L later she had filled it full.
We kindly knocked the sump plug out of it for her and drained a few litres for her.
I saw some pretty interesting things when working at a servo.
cheers

Ok Ok, I hear you all loud and clear, I am 49 years old, and my son is 19 he dose live at home and he dose occasionally smoke a little wacky weed, however, he never drives under the influence, he dosn't drink and drive, effectivley he is an adult, we are open minded pairents, and we keep a close eye on him, he works a full time job, fully qualified baker, If I were to kick his arse as some of you put it, it would only force him away from us and I have no intentions of doing that. And those of you that concider me and my wife irrisponsible parents, All I can say is YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND untill you have adult children of your own. Oh and I might add we also have a 22 year old daughter doing her final year at uni, an education degree she will be a teacher, and she is totally anti drugs of any description, so dont start judging my parenting skills, regards Kirk

To each their own I guess. If you think having a son that's high in your own home is ok, then fair enough.Originally Posted by kirkson

I do, therefore I feel I am qualified to comment. You should discourage not encourage drug use. Try finding out why this child uses drugs and act upon that, turning a blind eye and allowing it is not the answer.Originally Posted by kirkson

now lets not turn this into a anti drug thread. each person has their own values, belifes, yada yada yada, own moral standards, and different levels of high ground. basicaly this thread is about his son put 12 ltrs of oil in his engine. let's keep it on that topic.

Well said Garth regards Kirk

Sashyre,
I never said I was turnind a blind eye to it, what I was meaning was I oversee it as opposed to pretending it dosn't happen. I have spoken to him about it I don't allow him to smoke it indoors, however him and his mates occasiomaly use it out the back yard. At least this way he dosen't have to drive home smashed etc, etc, I certainly do not condone his behaviour, but as I say he is an adult and I refuse to drive him away, that would be irrisponsible, regards kirk

Yeah that'll totally work. When all my m8's hear there parents discourage them from doing drugs they totally stop.Originally Posted by Sashyre
You obviously have no idea how common drugs are amongst teenagers. Many teens do it to be cool, others do it simply because they want to. It might make them feel independant or more like an adult or it may fulfill their rebellious desires. & It doesnt matter what background you come from either, I have friends in public school who smoke dope, just as many of my friends do who went to all boys catholic schools and all girls catholic schools. I even know a girl who finished yr 12 last yr and she has a $400 a week cocaine addiction. Her parents are massively rich and i guess she found a way to spend her pocket money.
Marijuana is almost as common as cigarettes, alot of my friends even smoke marijuana but refuse to smoke cigarettes because they think cigarettes are bad for ur health? Go figure.
Im sure this guy doesnt encourage marijuana use, he is just letting his son make his decisions and mistakes and atleast his son is getting stoned in the safety of his own home rather than somewhere stupid and/or dangerous.
As an after note, im 18 years old and im doing Bachelor of Psychology at University, I am very anti-drugs and i never have and never will do drugs or smoke cigarettes because my mum died of a heroin overdose and marijuana gave my uncle schitzophrenia. You name it and my dad has done it, LSD, marijuana, heroin, speed whatever. He has been able to successfully give up each and every one of those drugs. The one thing he cant give up? Cigarettes.
very common, but no responsible person would allow it to happen under their nose. so he doesnt drive yadda yadda yadda what about his health? or that of the people around him?
whats the big deal about a daughter being a teacher? who cares. im a teacher, it wasnt exactly hard work.
Garth, you make a fair point. its a pity DHS doesnt see it the same way. rules are rules as they say, no matter what "moral high ground" you take.
But do you think going psycho at the kid about it and not letting him smoke it at home will change anything? You think he will smoke it any less? No. If anything he would smoke it more. As for health, alcohol and cigarettes are legal, yet they can be just as bad for you as marijuana.
what could dhs do? hes 19 isnt he? legal drinking age, legal driving age, etc, etc.
its his choice to do it, as others have said, hes doing it at home, blah blah. let him do what he wants, its not our life, its his, its his health. i eat junkfood, i dont exercise lots, oh no, someone call dhs, my parents arent discouraging me from eating badly. yes, im 20 and live at home also.
give it a rest, lets get this thread back on track, hes a dill for using so much oil, sounds like a common thing to do aswell.
