Hiiiii
i'm looking into buying an air compressor, I have a few hundred bucks to spend.
I was wondering if a 3hp, twin cylinder, 50 l tank, 10.9cfm @ 100psi compressor would stand up to the duties of the home garage - meaning comfortably power rattle guns, spray guns, die grinders, sanders .. that kind of stuff?
if not - can someone suggest some specifications I should be looking for?
cheers.
If you're looking to buy a large number of air tools, then get the best compressor you can otherwise the weakest link in the system (compressor) will affect the useability of all your airtools. Anyway you'll be looking around the $450-$600 mark for a good one. Make sure it's belt driven too, not direct-drive. 12cfm is usually the minimum for spray gun work, but 15cfm is recommended otherwise you'll run out of puff on long runs.
12cfm @ what psi?
this compressor has "14 cfm" but at 100psi it's 10.9....
$600.
