Well the title asks the question and I'm interested in your answers, because ya see for the first time tonight I did, never thought I would either but the freak in question needs shooting. On my way home tonight I got passed on double lines in a sixty zone by a two door BMW of some description, this dude was moving faaaast. The really stupid bit is that it goes to 100km/h with dotted lines not 100m up the road.I got home rang the local cop shop and gave em his rego. Got no regrets either. Ohh and just in case anyone was wondering, they were a P-plater, but so am I so it aint no excuse. I'm just so damned tired of people trying to get themselves killed round here.

no, i wouldn't. Unless it was something really stupid - excessive speed, drifting etc
it depends on what they did. if they did it around a school i would. but if it wasnt something to dangerous i wouldnt. so it depends on the circumstances.

depends how stupid they were being.. doing 100km/h in a school zone definately, but for somthing like overtaking on a country road @ like 130 or somthing i wouldn't call that hooning..
i have once, hoons regularly try drifting round the corner by my house. im 2 houses up and both my next door neighbours have had either their cars or fences smashed by theses people. When my car was parked at the street and i had seen the same car litterally come within metres of my car on several occations,i called the cops and moved my car further up the street.
no regrets, my neighbours did the same thing
no not into dobbing on people, anyway do you really think there going to do anything i mean really
i think if it was around a school they will but if it was in the country they wouldnt be to concernedOriginally Posted by stockvp

well i think theres better things to do than give someone a visit and give them a warning
let them go about their business.BMW
Personally I think unless you know the person its none of our business how they wish to drive. OK maybe P platers are different they need to be shown a lesson, I'd report them.
i would report a hoon if i didnt like them like payback or somthing but yea in general i wouldnt report a hoon![]()

so if it were an L plater it would be fine then?
i got reported 3 times by a neighbour for spinning the wheels in my vl in the rain leaving the entrance of the street but in all fairness it goes up hill with a blind ness to the right casr just appear. But she repored to cops that i was doin burnouts i was like wtf i spun the wheels as i moved away hardly hooning![]()

if its an L plater then the car theyre driving in is most likely their parents, so when you call in the rego number, it goes against their parents record and they would deserve it if they let their kid drive like thatOriginally Posted by stockvp

I would have done the same thing mate, i don't care if they kill themselve's, it's just one less ******** on our road's, it's the poor people in the other car, or the one's walking across the road that i worry about
id only report a hoon if their car was similar to mine and i was out and about....i hate being pulled up cauz the cops had been already reported and it wasnt me.(i very rarely hoon) but couldnt really care wat others do as long as it catches up with them.
No, if the licensed driver (who is responsible for the car and the driver) is stupid enough to allow them drive in a behaviour considered hooning then they are the ones that get punished. The driver might get punished too I don't know.so if it were an L plater it would be fine then?
Woul you report if it was a mate? Few nights ago *I was speeding*, overtook a friend of mine, who then sped up to the speed I was doing, then exting a T intersection, attempted to overtake over unbroken lines. Then I came up to a slower car so was behind it, when my friend overtook me, slipping in between myself and the car ahead, and then overtook it across unbroken lines, over a rise. Then sped off ahead of me. It really annoys me that they wouldn't have been driving like that had I not overtaken them.
I'm on my full license and my friend is a P plater.
So you're saying that because they drive a BMW, they are obviously skilled enough to safely overtake on double lines at night while exceeding the speed limit approaching a half blind corner? And that the only reason to report them was that they were a P-plater? Now in my humble opinion that's just dumb. Money with which to buy a nice car does not equal driving skill. None of our business? So if this freak had smacked into an innocent party head on coming the other way it would have been none of their business how he was driving?Originally Posted by glassjowned
If I knew who it was, I'd tell them what I thought of them next time I saw them, but I don't know them so I reported it. In answer to the bloke who wanted to know if I expected the cops to do anything about it, I know they wont. They'll do **** all as per usual, but I'll ask my friends around here to keep an eye out, and if they see this idiot driving like that again, some of them will report him as well. If he gets reported a few times maybe they cops will start to pay attention. It just irritates the hell out of me that people drive without any consideration for the safety of other road users and the laws of the country they inhabit.
i have once, guy was doing burnouts and dragging... not a week earlier he dobbed me in for stuff i didnt do and i got defected and bum bum ... so i called in for him doing burnouts and stuff.. he got an official warning and told that was wasnt aloud to drive anymore cuase his licence has been suspended as he hadnt paid his fines up... that reminds me. lol
speaking of reporting ******** drivers..
i was out at my local street drags tonight .. and the police turned up as they have a habit of doing, and we all scattered. unfortunately tonight it was me they picked up (thank christ i had a rwc done last week hahaha) .. but to the point...
when the bloke came to my window first thing he said is "we've had a few calls about this car, licence thanks"
now im struggling to wonder why the hell they've had "calls" i DONT speed, pull nuts, do demos, or be a wanker on the public roads whatsoever..
sure i spectate, love the illegal shows .. but i NEVER participate. so to all those people that lag on "hoons" ---> To each their own.. do as you see fit.. JUST GET THE DAMNED PLATE NUMBER RIGHT WHEN YOU RING IT IN SO I DONT HAVE SENIOR CONSTABLE McCRAY ATTEMPTING TO DEFECT MY CAR.
oh and HEY GUYS, been a while, but im back. you may all bow down and worship me nowhahaha hope this place is cool again

never late in a 3 0 .. uhhh ... intercooled turbo
yes i drive an mx6 turbo ... its probably quicker than yours.
If it was a mate I'd give 'em an earful in person, done it a couple of times. I'm not too fussed about a little bit of speed or a cheeky overtake, but obviously dangerous stuff is just not on ya know?Originally Posted by glassjowned
i would hardly call myself a judge on what is and isnt hooning but personally i think a quick little wheel spin in a area where there is NO ONE is able to be kept on the low but if someone does some stupid light running or lane dodging in peak traffic they ought to be brought to attention
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
just cause he's a p plater means his in the wrong? just because you're on a full licence doesn't warrant you to be a better driver than anyone else... so if you were all on ur full licence do you think he wouldn't of done that? you're all friends being cheeky to each other on the road, it comes down to the person not want level they're on their licenceOriginally Posted by glassjowned
not this ridiculous "if they're a p plater it's different" crap again, it's the minority that make the majority look bad, if you wanna rant about p platers search it in the forums, there's plenty of arguments there to show that it's not just p platers, there's bad drivers in every age group, driving different cars, at different experience levels in different places, use your head
keep on topic
I wouldn't report a hoon unless they're doing something stupid like in the first excessive speeding, dangerous/negligent driving, burnouts, something stupid in a school zone (dont you read the news) or if i wanted to get back at them for causing a near accident or grief to surrounding drivers yadda yadda yadda
something along those lines
