Thanks guys!! They're Sony Explod, 220w.

My old ones have just about had it. Distort when the volume goes over 20. At least it will be easy to get them in, as all i have to do is remove the old ones and connect the wires to the new ones and I'm set!!!!

never had any issues with Xplod gear, despite what the haters say.
probably crappy instals that make speakers seem crappy.

Ive heard 6*9 xplods, they sound decent if they have a good head unit suppling them, find they don't have that much rubber, still sound sweet, put some in me mates vl the other day, 250w amp on the parcel shelf, don't sound newhere as good as my kenwoods hooked to the head unit. Well what it used to sound like, the sun got to em and they are ripping away from the rubber and they coped a few bass test songs back in the school days, showing off your fully sic car and fully sic subwoofer sounds . That decent head unit can really kick those 6*9's. Looking at replacing them with 300+watts 4ways if i can find them for a decent price.
The only prob ive had with xplod is my four inches in the front only lasted 2 months, sub is still kicking hard now over 1 1/2 years.
BTW, happy birthday, hope your kicking it tonite

you are right jules. the only xplod gear have in the commy is the subs. and they have been running perfectly for around 5 years.

i have xplod head unit and speakers in the camry and it doesnt quite have the feel of my mix-up system in the commy.

Thanks!! I can't tell you if I've had a good till after tomorrow night!!

They sound awesome, I've had heaps of different types of music going through them over the past 24 hours, Guns 'n' Roses, Rob Zombie, Bon Jovi, just to name a few!!

All I need now is to ditch the spacers, and get them properly installed in the parcel shelf.

re-read it - "properly installed" - that could be legal.

indeed. and cutting the holes bigger needn't always render a car unroadworthy. many cars are 'modified' either within reason or complianced to suit.

hell, im a primary school teacher and i can tell a person who works with cars something!!!!! i hope a holden app never works on my commy!!!

actually as we have had one in with a cut parcel shelf i was told that any cut into a parcel shelf of a car deems it unroadworthy. as it part of the structure of the car

Well, I don't have much choice but to cut holes in the parcel shelf as the spacers I have bought aren't deep enough to support the speakers. Even with the spacers, they're still sitting on the magnet. And unless I want them sliding round every where back there, that is what I'm going to have to do.

Give me another option and I'll do it.

Whack the parcel shelf with a hammer to bend it where the speakers need to sit .

    Just kidding, don't do that.
