dam mate, so sorry for that 2 happn to u or any1 infact, must off been pure hell in the time of it doing that,

so waht u doing with the vk selling it for parts or repair? because u should be able to get some desnt money from that, expecially the lsd (if ur heart lets it part from you)

I'm still trying to decide what to do with it at the moment.

I'm not desperate to get ride of it but if i did i'd want it taken away in one peice. I don't want to see it getting stripped to peices.

I'm still considering keeping it and taking my time to restore it to her former glory.

i had a scary thing happen to me throttle related, was on the freeway in my stato sitting on 100 kph and i accelerated a little to overtake a car and she just took off i was hurtling to a set of red traffic lights with cars banked up going faster and faster, put the brakes on and it didnt do anything luckily i thought quick and jam the tranny in neutral it was revving like a bitch n pulled over to the side of the road only metres before i would of crashed into a bunch of cars doing about 170 clicks. my throttle cable had stuck to the engine cover

Its a bloody scary thing to have happen to you!

I'd never heard of it before it happened to me, i've since heard of a few cases of cars having a mind of their own. Most recently it happened to a mate from work. His wife opened the garage door for him and we he put it in gear it took off. He knocked his wife down, took out a steel pole in the garage and wrote off the car. Fortunately his wife only ended up with cuts and bruises and a few cracked ribs, it could've been heaps worse.

Seeing as this old thread has been revived, i thought id give a bit of an update. Its been 10months and i've still got the car. I couldn't even bring myself to look at it for about 6 months. I'm very slowly working on it. All the front panels have been removed, the radiator is out and i'm part way through removing the radiator support panel.

The plan is to take the motor out and give it a nice rebuild while the front end gets straightened out. I'm in no hurry though, it was always going to be a project car, i've just got a bit more to do now.

what did the owners of the other cars say about it, its scarey ive had my throttle body butterfly come out and jam on the side of the bore but being manual i used my clutch like a reverse accerator till i got to work

man that sucks sorry to hear.
i had a throttle jam on me at the drags luckily i had time to put it in neutral and turn it off. Scared the absolut crappers out of me though
