Heya guys,
After being screwed around by telstra bigpond and paying close to $30 a month for dial-up I've finally decided to get with the times and get broadband. I have been comparing isps and plans and stuff and come across one called Wild Internet and Telecom, the plan seems to be well suited to our needs and pretty cheap, I just want to know if anyone has internet with them or have even heard stuff about them whether it be good or bad.
Just worried about getting into a contract with a company I have never heard of.
Thanks, Julie![]()
if you have cable tv go with them
$60 a month unlimited flatout
if you need dsl its dearer the faster you go
$40 to a $160 depending on speed

AA AAP AAPT SMARTCHAT!!!
There you have it i did my bit for the company i work for lol. I reckon our plans are great, no contract free modem 256k 500mb = $29 or 512k 12,000mb = $39 or 1500k 15,000mb = $59 per month. All are unlimited meaning once you hit eg 500mb you get throttled/slowed down to dial up speed. but you gotta have you home phone with AAPT, but with out making it sound like im big noting AAPT i reckon its a fair deal!!! unless your like me and cant wait for adsl 2 so if your on the goldcoast go see On The Net!! happy hunting. Pm me if you want more details and ill call you from work. Im a IT tech support on the helpdesk. cheers julie!!

Its pointless having a large download limit unless you are a download junky like me. I'm with TPG 1.5mbit or 1500k with 25gb downloads for $69 per month. ADSL2+ will be along very shortly, its already available in some areas, that will be faster than cable.
I download mainly music albums and TV series' that I like and watch them in my own time.
Dunno what I'm gonna download now tho that Alias has been axed.
what speed is dsl II and the price for that speedOriginally Posted by ucwepn

ADSL2+ is a maximum of 24mbps up 1mbps down, will be a lower downspeed depending on how far you are from the exchange. In theory ADSL2+ should be cheaper than the 1.5mbps plans with equivalent download limits as it is offered through non-telstra equipment therefore the cost to the ISP is cheaper. Internode recently uncapped the speed limits on their ADSL2+ line profiles, so in theory you should get slightly higher speeds if you tweak it properly.Originally Posted by burnz
Edit: am currently on an Internode ADSL2+ Extreme plan with 20gig/month for $59.95. Not bad value for the speed. Add another $20 for an extra 20gig if you run out as well. Internode come highly recommended.

Its not really the fact how many servers get up to 20mbit, more the fact that you can download more than one thing at once without maxing your speed out, ie plenty of torrents at the same time![]()
this is probably the best site that i know of to test

This one isn't bad for a running average. That intel one gave me too many different results, probably because my speed is so high.

Go to the link below, enter your phone number, and it will tell you if you can get adsl and give you a list of isp's in your area

I'm with em.. What I pay $70 for a month (1500/512, shaped after 20gb), I'd pay $130 for the same with Bigpond..

I think you'd find some people on ADSL2+ would disagree with that.......Originally Posted by burnz
I just refuse to sign up with bigpond for broadband, 24 month contracts are not competitive the way the market is changing at the moment.
i only like cable optus/telstraOriginally Posted by vystorm_adel
dsl/dsl11 to expensive for a similar speed

So I guess $59.95/month for 24000/1000 with 20gig isn't a better deal?Originally Posted by burnz
Seriously though, if anyone is after a better broadband deal for the state they live in have a look at this site.

Telstra suck bothmaballs and Optus can kiss my a$$.
Cable will be 2nd in speed to adsl2+, telstra just trying to make more profits with bully boy tactics. And optus want you to get all your services with them in a contract for 24 months, no thanks.
Thanks for your imput guys, we decided to join up with westnet.
