    I have to agree with most of them. Why on earth would you spend 5k chucking a V6 into a celica? The v6s are all right but i;d say a good 80% of us would swap our 3.8s for a 5 litre in a second. If I was him I'd be selling the celica and buying a late 80s model turbo supra. Would come out around the same price but be a hell of alot more car for his money.

    the really funny bit is my lil bro drives a sillycar, 2.0l, twin cam 16v and my "crappy cast irom boat mooring" engine chews it up with a rooted trans....

    what about what classique71 said about how the super6 wont keep up with a stock ba falcon, man thats a big load of bull!! i rekon i could beat/even a ba in my std v6...obviously the ppl writing this stuff havnt been in a commodore before, saying the vn weighs 1600kg more like1330kg... my vs calais weighs 1490kg.

    what would people on here say if someone came on posting that they want to put a 1jzgte/1ggte into a commodore?

    Toyota Eclipsed that with a 3L six years before 2jzge has been pushing 169kw NA from like 1993.

    I have nothing against Holden's but I have only ever owned Toyota's, but comparing a 3.8L commo V6 to a toyota engine is like comparing chalk and cheese. Refinement for one thing, oh and seeing above 5000rpm reliably and actually making power .

    The 3.8L can produce decent power but it costs money of and please tell me why there is an ever growing number of commodores running 1uzfe, 1jzgte, 2jzgte's and even Nissan's coming in with RB25/26's and i'm not just talking VL's either.

    It never ceases to amaze me how bitchy people can get about car brands. Who gives a ****in toss? A cars a car, and it doesnt matter what the brand is! People make up statistics all the time to make a certain engine look better than another etc... I really have no idea why people bother. None of us will convert those who are Toyota mad, and vice versa!

    I don't like toyotas because IMO their bodies look crap. But that doesn't mean others dont love how they look!! Many toyotas are FUN AS FUC* to drive! I have shyteloads of fun in my mates celica!

    by fwkw, he probably meant flywheel not front wheel.

    also please show us details of these commodores running toyota engines. i havent seen any anywhere

    A) your thinking of a 7mge not a 2jzge which has a metal head gasket from factory oh and its not like the Buick V6 isn't fond of blowing Head gasket's either.

    2jzgte is good for 700-800hp on stock internals.

    Start reading street commodores then a dyno day located about 5mins from my house featured about 4 months ago saw a VS commodore running an RB25DET, there's a VH running a twin turbo 1UZFE, a couple Vk's running 1jzgte's, and a few VS commodores running 1jzgte's as well.

    Oh and please remind me which gearbox all the old holden blokes love nothing other than the supra 5 speed.
