im in qld, born in nsw, i thought it was the funnyest thing i have ever heard. and my god did the qld guy's get their nose out of place, some saw the funny side, some didnt

what is even more funny, is it will take the council 4-5 months to clean graffiti off walls, it took them 4 hour's to know about it, have it removed, area cleaned up and wally the gromit polished up nice and shiny

EASY TIGER... its just a joke, the paint was just wiped off so im assuming it was only water based. They cleaned him off and now the is back to his former self. The best bit was when he posed for a photo...toughness!! Anyway we will get em this time,

There is a house here that has a life size statue of Mal Meninga as his post box. A few years ago someone done the same thing to it on the eve of the origin. Made me laugh as much as the wally statue yesterday.

apply a different scenario...what if a group of poms did the same to the bradman statue near the MCG? would anyone actually laugh at that, or would australia be up in arms chasing down the filthy poms that did it? i dont see much difference between the two....

I thought it was pretty funny. I'm a blues supporter living in QLD. But the thought of them doing it to bradman did piss me off. I guess it has alot to do with origin being a friendly competition between states while cricket is international. Also bradman being a figure of Australia that has died.

Gumbs - To millions of League fans Wally lewis is most certainly an Australian Idol. It was oil based paint apparrently and when I watched the news they had been cleaning for four hours with plenty of paint to take off still!!

Not offensive either, just something I would expect from yanks, not aussies!

its not the fact that it is offensive, its more the fact it is disrespectful. im a melbournian and have been all my life so s.o.o isnt a vital thing to me but i just reckon it shows a lack of respect to the sport, not just qlder's...
i have been a member of melb storm since 2001 so its not like nrl is irrelevnt to me coz im a victorian...

Im all for the blues (even though i live in QLD but born and bred in NSW) and when it comes to origin absolutley hate the maroons, but i thought it was quite disrespectful though to paint it. Personally if i had to do it i just wouldve put a blues jersey and shorts on him and a sign.

I'm also QLD born and bred.. but have always gone for the Blues.. it's gotta say something when QLDers are going for the Blues even when they're real QLDers
