Well i got the scary package in the mail today, the police finally got around to organising my court appearance for my accident. Turns our im being charged with "carless driving". Ill be in court at the end of August.
Im a little cut that i still have to go, i mean i only damaged myself and my car, nothing else and im sure, i know, that the cost of a new car, fear of death and everything else has learned me enough. Taking my licence away from me i dont feel will help. It will just make me angry, immobile and lead to further inexperience.
Im sure ill get flammed for "do the crime do the time" or whatever but i feel i have learned my lesson and i think that this is a little bit exaggerated now. Anyway. Anyone wanna come watch? Its in SE Melbourne.

It's all going to depend on which magistrate you get and what their mood is unfortunately...
i wouldnt stress too much..... they tend to go easy for your first offence trust me on that one.... your likely to come out of there with a good behaviour bond, maybe community service and a fine....
loss of points doesnt always happen
Oh cool, i cant really afford to loose my licence right now! 3 Jobs and a car is Very imporant. Grrrrrr..... i wish i hadnt crashed!!!! grrrr....
aZk.
Best thing to do now is do a defensive driving course and then you will have some leverage in court. You can say that you are very remorsefull for your
actions and have taken steps to avoid getting yourself into a similar situation in the future. Hopefuly if they are nice to you then you may just get the minimum
licence suspension and fine they can hand out.
My mate did the same thing when he got done for DD, he did an alcohol awareness course, said he was sorry and got 4 months.
Azk: I was recently in court for Careless driving -- wheelspin. I did the defence driving, but I had a reciept from the mechanic to say it was a mechanical fault (long story.. no time). I got off.. kinda.
best you can do in court is agree with everything the magistrate says, and dont try to sound c0cky, and always plead guilty if you did it
oh and hope you get the magistrate in a good mood
can you tell us about your accident?... was there any road conditions that could have caused it?... loose gravel?... spillt oil?... slippery road condition?... poor lighting?... your first time in that area?.... you swerved to miss a dog?... (lots of drivers use that excuse)...
