Best DVD ripping/burning program

G'day Y'all..

I am after the best DVD Ripping/Burning program.. Of course I will only be ripping/burning DVD's without copyrights..

I've got a dual layer burner on my laptop, but only one drive.. So I'll have to rip onto the HD and then burn it as a DVD, I also plan on converting them to DivX, if I don't burn them on DVD..

Is there a program which allows me to do all this?

I use DVD shrink.

It compresses the format down to fit a 4.7GB DVD.
But honestly on our big tele and our surround sound u cant tell the difference.

But what do you use to put the ISO back onto the DVD...

yep, dvd shrink, and for making backup's of dvd's you own so the kids don't bugger your originals is dvd decrypter

Nero.
U need to have Nero to be able to burn it.

Depends what you're ripping.. if it has encryption or is an ISO that you've acquired 'legally' then try using Alcohol 120%. Great ripping program. Then use Nero to burn.

Can't use nero anymore, I need to get into my registry and set it up so that it doesn't recognise a trial version has expired.

I used to have Nerovision full version but its since gone missing. PM for help?

I just downloaded DVD Shrink. I was pleasantly suprised when I found out it was freeware..

So I take it DVD Shrink is used to create a sort of ISO for DVD's?

Is there a good way to convert the DVD's I rip using DVD Shrink to DivX?

i use dvd shrink for shrinking it to an image file (ISO) to fit a normal 4.7gig disc caus the dual layer discs are too expensive and you have the option of burnin with dvd shrink but an error always comes up for me so then i use dvd decrypter to burn it.

The full version of Nero came with my laptop, so Im not too borthered about burning..

I did have a "dodgy" version I got straight from BitTorrent on my old comp. It worked just fine.. Wasn't even that big either..

dvd decrypter is discontinued and the author continues the development in the much better imgburn

to rip from dvd to divx, i used a program called dvdx. wasnt too hard to use

the nero you downlaaded would be the same as a normal version, except you were also supplied with a keygen to unlock it.
also, since its downloaded by a torrent, its less than likely that is contains a trojan horse

I have anti-virus, firewalls anyway.. And I don't mind people hacking into my computer.. If uni essays, porn, some movies, eclectic mp3's and nothing of value turns em on.. Go for it..

pfftt noobs !!! Just cause it appears legit and needs unlocking doesn't mean that the program hasn't been binary hacked and extra code added... did you get a mda hash from Nero to verify it's uncorupted...?...I dont think so.

hows this? i use a properly downloaded trial version of nero, and use a serial code from ultra edition to unlock it. watch how you talk to people

Dont mean to insult you dude...but you arguement for I dont think so... cause yada yada... is scarey of what a great idea people think bit torrent is.

if you have collected allot of avi's and want to then create a dvd movie of these avi's (movies). I use tmpgenc to convert them, then use dvd author to create a menu'ed dvd of them... works great..

but as mentioned dvdshrink is the go to burn dvd movies, simple and free
