The Fastest Accelerating and Braking Car in the World
The Ultima Factory have for the third consecutive year smashed the world record for sprinting to 100 mph and back to zero again in the all conquering, multiple world record holding 200 mph Ultima GTR supercar.
Driven by Ultima Director, Richard Marlow, the British built and designed Ultima GTR road car set a new world record time of a staggering 9.4 seconds for the 0-100-0 mph sprint.
The GTR scorched from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds, 0-100 mph in 5.3 seconds and braked to zero from 100 mph in a mind blowing 3.6 seconds, which are all in themselves road car world record times.

i thought the bugatti veyron could reach 60mph in 2.5?

Yep I'm disapointed that the Veyron isn't on the list which should place it in the top 2.
Seriously, I'm trying to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my arse!!
ive checked a few sites, and the veyron is faster, except the veyrons time isnt official yet.

it looks like it's carburetted. to me it looks like a race car with no chance of achieving road registration outside of britain which has some funny our-local-sports-car-makers-can-register-anything and isn't a fair comparison with the other road-based sports cars on the list such as the Enzo.
those other cars can all be driven to work. still i wouldn't say no if someone was offering a drive![]()
anyone else notice the bowtie on the rocker cover?? Care to hazard a guess at what sort of motor it is?
Keep in mind that the 2006 Ultima GTR720 record is for the 0-100mph-0 record that is accelerate from a standing start to 100mph and then brake back to a standstill.
i dont think that it should count as a record, it seems that theres no way you could register it in heaps of countries. And if its not out of street cars, then the F1's would take it easy
Bugatti Veyron is not faster. It is 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds. 987hp, worth $2.1 million AUOriginally Posted by stocky

The Ultima is not a production car...And the Bugatti Veyron is now Officially the worlds fastest production car. Anyone else notice the Ultima looks suprisingly similar to the RedBack? The RedBack also uses a chevy engine...
yes but i think even though it is the "fastest 0-100-0 car" doesnt mean it will be a nice ride. can anyone say harsh as hell?!![]()
mmmmmyeh.... by the way those wheel arches are moulded round the wheels doesnt look like there is alot of suspension travel
you can see a headunit in the last pic, so i guess it does have a sound system
Yeah again relating it to the Redback which is Australias fastest supercar (99% sure) and that has a sound system in it...splits etc. all soundstreamOriginally Posted by trepaul

the guages look fake and plasticky...lol
cheers, Todd
VY works currently in PRODUCTION!!
Engine will still be sloow!!!!! ;-)
No Koenigseggs in that list either. The CCX is only a fraction slower than the Veyron. And it IS in production. Think I might go order one tomorrow.. oh wait, I'm poor![]()
that cars no good where ya sposed to put the beers ....hehe
It is stated as 1001ps, which is 987bhp.Originally Posted by stocky
However according to AutoCar magazine, in perfect conditions it is closer to 1100ps, or 1085bhp. 1001ps is a minimum on a hot day at high altitude.

This is actually relevant to the thread as well. The Bugatti Veyron competed in a 0-100-0 contest, making it in 9.9 seconds, not far behind the Ultima GTR720 which was 9.4 seconds.
Note the 0-60mph time of 2.8 seconds hehe....

and check out the top ten coolest things about the Veyron in this list...such as its $30,000 sound system, spinning all 4 wheels in 3rd gear, horsepower guage, etc.:

check it...
yeah semi noticed that before up top:
As I said earlier as well, the latest Australian Supercar called the Redback, that features a 5.7L Gen III which is supercharged (I think, maybe turbo?). Incredibly quick car because it has so much power yet is so light. The Redback looks very similar to the Ultima as well.anyone else notice the bowtie on the rocker cover?? Care to hazard a guess at what sort of motor it is?
