Since blowing my OLD kicker 800 (or something) WATT amp, I've said to myself, no more half ass-ness on the VR (thus going and buying an AMPLE 1200W amp), so I don't want a half assed job on the Tacho, so I was going to get it professionally done, I heard it's like $60 from auto elecs.

I wouldn't mind a taco with a shift light for my car. But I don't want a massive 5" job and an 11 graqnd scale is pretty pointless seeings I'm limited at 7.5.

Hey Minux, Im after a similar set up since I already have an existing tacho and am not a fan of the monster tachs. Only gauges I want are oil pressure and volts. Anyway do you know of any companys that make just an actual shift light for that purpose? I assume it will just be a little LED light.

I know howards did it for a few guys, but in sydney i really couldnt tell you, any auto elec could rig it up, i am positive it wouldnt be that hard.

I might have to look at those speco ones. Although my taco is out by a good 500 rpm but once I work out the limiter its easy enough to just take 200 rpm off that. And for the record I do drive a manual and being honda once I hit 5k the engine note doesn't change at all.

iv got nothing against monster tachos, i dont mind them. even with a stock tacho already in the dash cluster i would prefer one because it would be more precise and wouldnt have to worry about the stock one sticking. and the shift light seems a good idea when your music drowns out your engine and cant always look at the tacho when to change gears (eg. going around corners or looking for traffic). i wouldnt mind the AutoMeter C2 series tacho (my avatar).
