    that looks pretty good.
i've been playing around with home theatre stuff lately (gunna build my own speaker system soon), ATM i've got a pair of 2 ways.
    they're in custom mdf thingos with a 6.5 mid.woof and 13mm tweeters,xovers are at 5000hz.
i got the speakers for $30 off ebay (prosonic splits, i'd recommend them to anyone, they really are absolutely fantastic for the price) and made the mdf things one night.

are you going to put modern speakers/amp into that thing?
    I have an inline 4!
Inline 4 on the left, inline 4 on the right.

I agree, now it just looks like a pile of shit. Was probably an old valve unit that just needed to be revalved nd it wouldve fired up and been worth 2-3 thou

It does work, and "peice of shit" you reckon, you dont know much do you... no worries you can have the other one I have just like it in mint condition for $1500 then... make you some money. you can buy a "how to spell book"

bought it for $35 and it is most def not worth 2-3 thou!! pull ya head in. and keep you opinions to yourself d1ckhead. (your american are you, yeah that figures)

In fact to prove your full of shit, show me one with a price tag, of how did you put it "2-3thou"

beacuse thats where the lcd screen is going..... in fact its having two lcd screens put in, one at the front and one on the top left hand side. as for wrecking it, don't think so... granted the side mounted speakers are dodgy as, but there was little else to put them, its has stuff inside, so it's not like you can say hey I'll moount them here, as the LP player blocks allot of it, and the electronics etc etc, these speakers will get replaced, I only installed em to test the sound and mp3 player .its going to be pimped... and be great to see the speakers bounce out the top... whilst having the lcd display graphics through winamp...

by the way are you guys like just going through puberty or something...

*puts on flame suit* I have a similar unit as well. I did think of putting modern equipment into it, but in a more 'modest way' I did start pulling out the internals & I would have thought you would have gone the same way. After all your not using it, & it just wastes space that could have been used to hide the speakers in, giving a clean finish.

I also suggest that as someone with 20 or so posts that you dont come on to a forum & start mouthing off at long standing members. As for being american what does that have to do with it ??? In fact he is an aussie (for the moment)

I give you full marks for ideas... however I feel that it could have been done in a tidier fashion. Still keeping the looks/value of such a vintage piece while enjoying todays technology.

    D.

appreciate your post, I hardly think that having 20 posts and 12volt being a long standing poster has ANYTHING to do with it. (just for the record, 20 posts on here, thousand's on the web over the last 15 years)

I took offence at his post. and I don't care if you have 1 million posts, just because you have posted many times does not give you the right to hang shit on something, especialy when your wrong..

Your question about he's nationality(american), by this I mean, loud mouthed, over opinionated, obnoxious etc etc

There are right and wrong ways to do things.. Attacking something with such disrespect will always get a response back from me.. I stand by what I have written.

you basically said it, but politely which is cool. I have several older style stereo's, so sacrificing one was not a big deal..
I'll post a pic when its done, and see if I can tidy it up. the side speakers will be replaced with a more modern set, and the lcd's will be flush mounted.. might even re-do the cloth, and try and give it a more contemp look..

oh dear, i see a warning coming on. I would have thought that in your 15 year career as a forum legend youd know not to stroll into a forum, ask a question, get aggro when someone responds, badmouth a mod (who happens to be an incredibly savvy AUSTRALIAN electronics installer) then attempt to back it up by telling someone they need to learn how to spell when yourself using some of the poorest spelling and grammar to grace my poor old eyes.

But, youve been doing this for 15 years, so i didnt need to tell you that did i?

    Few things,
    I'll address them individually.
    (1)Never did I say I was a forum legend (that's your misinterpretation).

May I suggest you spend to much time checking for spelling errors, whilst that time should be more aptly spent taking comments at face value, in fact because you worry me with your misunderstandings. I'll spell it out for you.

Yes I have been posting on the web for 15 years that MEANT not watch very closely.

That my 20 posts on here, might not be allot, but in the BIGGER picture I am not knew to the forum scene, and as such treat everyone with a little respect. Because I am new, does not give anyone the right to be rude, or belittle my attempts to mix with other members.

    (2) Agreed my grammar and spelling was bad. I just could not be bothered with fixing it (it did not warrant my time)
    (3) I disagree that I bad mouthed a Mod. I simply stated that 12voltage was out of line, and why I decided to retort.
    (4) Get agrro (Didn’t you spell checker pick this up as incorrect!)
    (5) Bad Grammar & spelling gracing your poor old eyes - Perhaps you should open your eyes more, and take a quick look around this forum and politely suggest that to the rest of the members. Would you like me to check you posts for spelling errors?

    1/ the impression you gave.
2/ ...ill assume the same for the above post.
3/ associating someone with being loud mouthed etc etc is bad mouthing someone.
4/ it can be spelled 'agro' or 'aggro' but not 'agrro' (where do you get that from?!?)
4/ I have already done so. My errors are generally typos for the record, i tend not to punctuate either.

but again, forum guru, you would know all this already!!!

start posting some interesting things about commodores (i THINK thats what this forum is about) or find another career on another site.

anyway bullshit aside, good luck with the radio thingy. i like the idea behind it and it has given me some ideas!

some people are just plain Belligerent... bet your female too.

for someone that prides them selves on spelling how did you come up with "Warrnybubble", I guess its ok when you do it, or perhaps its just ok to mix two words together, lucky I did not do that. or you would have criticised me for that to..

good luck with your spell checker police job.

Ziggee settle down before this takes it to far and I also suggest that you do not pm me with just a link. You were obviously sending me a pm just to make me retaliate. Well, I am retaliating. Settle down.

Just for the record, you have made judgment against Americans and Females. Consider this your first warning. We do not tolerate ANY form of racist behaviour here.

I am a school teacher, about as close to a spell checker job you can get, and considering police as my next move, so thankyou for your best wishes.
