Howdy guys..
It's time for me to start looking for something new... sorry it won't be a commodore this time roundJust looking for a 4cyl with plenty of driver space, looking around $6-8k.. will be primarily an a-b car.
I think I'll be disowned if I get anything particularly "sporty" and rice-oriented cars are a no go as well (i think i'd rather kill myself).. so has anyone got any ideas for me?
Cheers,
Matt

Hey Matt !
With your record of killed cars I'd recommend a Mitsubishi Magna...they have a large torquey 4 and a big enough body to be safe...
edit:: But going for a front wheel drive car means you'll need to revise your driving style...they are too easy to lose control of around corners if you accelerate and loose traction... generally you apply the accelerator in a straight line and roll around corners gently feeding the accelerator in as you exit the turn.

yeah Id say go a magna too... was my first car.
Honestly they are pretty decent in size, & you could even go the V6they are pretty beastie.... & Ofcourse then you could always head over to aussiemagna forum
(not that Im a member there or anything
) lol
But you will find that most 'small cars' are just that 'small' & for someone your size.... thats prob going to be a big problem. Hubby & I had a TS magna years ago & he is 6'4 & found it decent enuf, now days TJ etc... are even bigger.
Maybe you can even stretch to a AWD magna advance or something ? ( no idea on prices thou soz )
D.
Or you could go for something more stylish....

but that wouls be more costly to fix if anything went wrong compared to the common Magna

Beemer is a nice thought but I think I'd prefer something a bit newer... Magna is one I wouldn't have thought of so I'll definitely have to check that out.
Other one I was thinking if I could find one, an AWD Liberty, might be a bit more than I want to spend though for a late 90's model.

Why not go for a VT, there slow as...lol... oh yeah i went there...lol...
nah seriously... try a lancer. Mates got one. Without the cannon, wings etc they look ok. Camry's are also good relable cars.
good luck!
aZk.
Lol... somehow I don't think i could run it past my stand-in motherOriginally Posted by azkwazere

Doesnt matter what car you get, you can still loose control of it. I'd say go a commodore, just drive it normal for once.
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.
if you are after a small car got for a toyota camry or even a holden astra. i can fit in both so im guessing you would have a good chance.
most of the mitsi's are pretty good imo. the older diamante's and magna's would be the best.
No scoop on this one... so I dunno.
And I actually was driving the VS normal when I rolled it... yes it can happen... one more reason the AWD Liberty appeals...

Go the AWD liberty if ur not getting a commodore. They are awesome cars, i looked at them too before i got a commodore (i couldnt afford it at the time).Originally Posted by mattman
There a good car, luxury and some power. You would like it.

drive the car in reverse, thus changing the car to a rear wheel drive.Originally Posted by sixshooter

Yeah Liberty sounds good.... power not a biggie for me, just don't want something completely gutless... luxury is niceAWD a definite plus...
Just need to get it past the powers that be... may be the undoing of that plan
But failing that, I'm taking note of what others suggest, so thanks guys.

Yeah I'm not too sure.. she wasn't keen on me having something as "big" as the liberty.. but wtf do you do otherwise? I could get a little box car... but power:weight against a heavy liberty wagon (not so keen on sedan).. the box car would probably come out ahead... grrrness..
Oh but the magna was oklol... just as heavy and powerful, sedan is larger than the liberty wags.... but it's ok...
