just ventin. my car is now totalled. Some local pricks came round a corner on the wrong side pulling a buggerd trailer. I connected with there rear door, glanced off and caught the trailer. took the tray, axle and most supports with it, leaving drawbar still atached.
Damage to mine, well, wot u cant see in the photos is the bent piece of chassis that the engine mounts are on, as well as the front bit next to radiator. pics of these when i get the bonnet open.
I only have 3rd party, but this is no help. the other driver wasnt insured at all. (him and his m8s are the sort u dont mess with) so compensation is highly unlikely, so is police incolvement.
As a student, i dont have/cant get the money to fix it :b: .

It will go to police if they start getting nasty bout there car, (minor ding in rear door , flat tyre), otherwise we are trying to sort it out in a friendly(ish) nature. there car wasnt insured, no licences, warrants or regos, the whole nine yards.
as for compassion, lol, wots that???

Yeah if you go to the cops the pricks will get charged with driving offences and you may get compensation from the courts.

I would do this personally.

Sorry to see that man. I must have been lucky as mine isn't quite as bad. Luckily for me it is only minor dimple of frame damage. Panels can be replaced but if the frame is wrecked bad then it makes it a lot worse.

thats a shame man that looked in pretty good nick too...yeah go to the cops straight away not ur fault that someone else didnt wanna get insurance...make them pay i say!!

Call the cops, once the cops know about it they would be pretty stupid to do anyhting to you as they would get done for that as well.

Yeah man for sure go to the cops, they not gonna do anything to you. Then if they do you can really drag there asses across the coals. The cops are there for a reason and so is insurance atleast you took the time to do something bout yours!! DO IT

oh you poor bugger... Glad it seems to have worked out ok with the other driver, bit of a rock and a hard place when it comes to local "problem" people... Good luck finding somehting nice for the money they were able to swing you...

hmmmm. unfortunately its unfixable for that price (quoted between 2 and 3k for a fix up depending if i scavenge the replacement panels). A vk would be nice, but i gotta get more cash first.

You got $1200? "BIG surprise" is the understatement of the year!! That's more than the car would be valued at on the open market. I was going to suggest you check with your insurance company, because most third party policies (in Australia anyway) will cover you in the event that an accident isn't your fault and you can identify the other driver. But getting $1200 (and I assume you still get to keep the car) isn't too bad deal. Stills sucks if it was your pride and joy. Any thoughts on transplanting the running gear to a better shell or are you just going to sell the wreck off as parts?

im in the process of selling the whole thing as parts or to restoration hobbyists. Depending on the price offered, the only thing that will remain is the brand new LPG system. the rest ill just take woteva is on offer for it. The running gears were all stock so they can stay with the car
