Default Peoples thoughts on whats classed as Orginal

Just wondering what peoples interpritation of 'orginal' is? The car im looking at is orginal to every extent. Orginal interior, rims, headunit, spare wheel and tire, etc.
Now I want to enter it in some shows as 'best orginal VN' ,type catergories and am wondering what mods would be likely to loose points?
Like I have billet caps for the oil cap, master cylinder, etc but would this detract from orginal?
    Peoples thoughts?

yes, dont know how many points you'd lose but original means exactly that, some people with the older girls are very passionate about it (its also much harder with say a torana or HK Pre/Brougham/Monaro, esp when you get down to engine numbers and stickers etc), the mods you mention seem easy to change back to concourse (factory) condition and genuine parts are still readily available from holdens. Good luck with it.

That was my thoughts aswell. Just didnt knowhow picky they were. Might have to just using mods from same area cars, like VN HSV's, etc.

Well as long as they are factory options from your chosen model, i don't see why they'd take points from you.

i agree, if they are optioned parts, they should still be classed as original to a certain degree

they'd still deduct points if they werent parts optioned at that level, ie SS wheels on an exec or vice versa or calais grille on a berlina or exec etc. it would be like a LH Torana SL being made up to be an SLR5000, just cos its got the badgework, steering wheel, decals, instrument cluster from an SLR and a 308 motor, doesnt make it an SLR5000, just makes it a copy. The judges of these type of shows are very meticulous.

Nah its an SS so I was talking parts that were avaliable in the HSV Enhanced package. So airbox, exhaust tip, etc.

obviously it would no longer be original if you did that

I have spoken to someone who judges these sorts of events and he said as long as its a dealer option you are fine.
So I can use the better flowing airbox, but it has to be the SV stamped one not the VS for example.
