Default Anyone know anything about outboard motors?

Just got a phone call from Dad, and he wants me to try and get info on the net about how to repair the outboard on our boat. Its an Evinrude 25HP from the '80s (i think), and it will not start. Its a problem with the electrical ignition system. He's checked the spark plug, but that didn't help. It uses a magneto ignition system. Anyone got any clues?

    TIA.

Well there's your problem - it's from the 80's! Trying coaxing it with a few disco tunes and a mirror ball.
