I was going to put something up about this the other day but didn't get a chance, even though I should be doing my Linux assignment I'm taking it easy before getting started.

Anyway how did you go? I ended up with 34 which I didn't think was too bad considering the questions. I like to consider myself a good driver, not the safest on the road in terms of anger management and speed but I haven't had a single accident so I guess that has to say something.

I thought the test was a dodgy, I don't particularly like Sam Newman but hell he made some very valid points regarding some of the questions/answers.

A couple of things I would like to point out which I'm sure if you have watched it, you would have seen.

Who has ever seen one of those stop signs with 3 holes in it shaped like stop lights? I have never once seen them in SA.
That question about the highbeams was crazy, you wait until you pass the car then put them on not pull out put them on then drive past them.

I thought the test had absolutely no bearing on what type of driver you are. If you have ever watched Australia's Worst Drivers with Maggie on it you'll know why, she is fine with the theory but put her out on the road and well you know its going to be a complete disaster.

I've said enough, what are your thoughts?

It was certainly a rather interesting test, since I am from SA I haven't seen a few of the signs before but that's no excuse really

What was the highest in the studio audience? Something like 48 I think it was.

Speaking of the linux assignment, I am still yet to finish it.

What was Q34? I think the old lady chucked out the paper I had it written on.

Eddie Mguire or however its spelt, don't even get me started on him, same with Sam Newman

I think threads not posted to for 6 months should be placed in an archive folder and excluded from the main search engine on this forum.

...and those resurrecting old threads should also be placed in an archive folder. When I clicked on the thread, I thought "What the heck, Darren's starting a thread, must be interesting!!". Wasted 2 minutes of my time all for nothing.

Taking it further, here's my invoice Ray for my wasted time. Using my real wage:

    Labour: 2 minutes @ 5 peanuts per hour = 0.17 peanuts
    Callout Fee: 7 peanuts
    Subtotal: 7.17 peanuts

Total (inc. GST) = 7.88 peanuts

Payment expected within 7 days. Make the cheque out to "Graveyard Services"

just out of curiousity, what is it people have against old threads being brought up? Threads are dated, so you look at it and can decide whether it's new or not... I know if i found a valid thread in relation to a question i had and i had something to add or ask i'd ask it in that thread.

Doesn't this eliminate the redundancy of having people starting new threads each 6 months when they want to clarify a small detail of what may have been said? Sure you could say that threads over 6 months old should be deleted to save space on the server, but then wouldn't that just be removing information, which is pretty much the whole point of a forum? But seriously, i'm wanting to know if there's other reasons i haven't thought of why people are against old threads being brought up? Can anyone shed some light? Cheers, Bryce.
