back in around 1860 holden first started out as a saddle making company. in 1913 they started production of sidecars for motorbikes. during and after WW1 they built car bodies for dodge and buick. in 1924 GM did a deal with holden so they would only build GM car, bodies at their new plant in woodville. the 'lion and stone' symbol was sculpted in 1928 and in 31 holden was bought buy GM to form GM-H. fishermens bend was opened in 36.
