    Default Fluro Lights

    G'day all

I got a problem with fluro lights in my kitchen that tend to flicker very dull like, not even enough to light the room.

I'm wondering is any sparkies or people had to rectify this problem before

P.S. Yes the starter and bulbs have been replaced

    thanks

I'd be willing to bet it's the starter. Buy 'em in packs of two or four at any discount store. Doesn't hurt to replace them anyway and try. Pull the fluro tube, the starter comes out just like a taillight globe in a car, turn one way and pull out.

I don't think electrical laws have gone that far yet that people can't replace globes or fluro starters...although amusingly at work they did...briefly... (the wonderful Workplace Health and Safety people...), and one night we held things up for an hour waiting for the sparky to come in on night shift to change a spotlight globe at a filler...five seconds work to screw in a bulb at 2 a.m...we're now allowed to do that sort of thing ourselves...

Whoops....just noticed you've already replaced them both...in that case, Garth is right...call an electrician...we had a similar fault with some of our lights, and it turned out to be a rat in the ceiling nibbling on the wires leading from the switch to the lights...
