Hi, we have a 2000 dual cab hilux here that has a leak in the left side footwell of the rear seat. cant see any way the water is getting in.
has anyone heard of this problem in the 1998-2005 hilux's or now a solution.
    thanks

Check to see if any of the plastic grommets are missing from the back of the cab or under the floor.

yea a previous leak i found in the front was caused by a plastic sticker (what a stupid idea) comming loose under floor. i have a theory about the leak in the back so i'll find out when it rains next.

is it allright to use silicone on the paint work/metal?

If you use silicone make sure it is a neutral cure silicone. Most silicones are acid cure and will make metal rust.
