ok, im gunna have my rant, this has been pissing me off for a while now.
whats with these clowns who seem to think because your driving a "flash looking car" (to use my old mans words) that you want to race them.
i cop it all the time, some fool will race up beside you and match your speed, then start reving their car, lurching back and forth trying to get you to race them. some even start yelling out their window and carrying on like a tool.
the worst part about this whole thing is 90% of the time its a fellow commy driver, and its a shame to think there are so many d*ckheads driving a commodore like that and giving us all a bad rep.
ive had one very close call with one of these clowns before, almost having an accident with them. i was on my way home and a red vs started doing the usual stuff, trying to get me to race him. he was in the left lane, myself in the right. he'd been matching my speed for a while and i was coming up to my street where i needed to turn left, so i tryed to slow down to get behind him...he slowed down to, i speed up and tryed to get infront of him...he thought it was on and planted it...so i slammed on the brakes (i was almost at my street by now) and i turned into the left lane...then he slams on his brakes! and i almost run up the back of him.
its stupid sh*t like this that just rubs me the wrong way, if you wanna race someone, go down to the track, dont endanger everyone else with your stupidity.

It was stock too.. I wouldn't risk the fine, points, license and car confiscation on a shitty car like that in close to peak hour traffic..

one of the reasons why i don't concentrate too much on my car's "looks".
i was on the logan motorway towards brissy, a vr/vs ute catches up next to me, the passenger had his window all down with his arm hanging out the window, like a tool.
so i slowed down, then sped up, of course the tools did the same.
so i wound down my window and the back window so the tools could see the kids in the back to signal i am not interested, shook my head saying no, and guess what? because they are tools, they don't understand.
it is most likely these tools have just got their licence, the car they're trying to race with is in no condition to do so, worst is the car looks like their parents car!
if the kids were not with me that day, i would have pulled over, and if they had done the same i would have introduced them to my cricket bat in the boot.

if they are revving it then they are probably using the clutch, they can be busted for that, something to do with failing to have control. also noise etc etc.

they do it around here too. the back of the car is always a good inch lower than the front, you can just see their wigga cap over the dash and oh i almost forgot they will undoubtedly have stockies on the back. cool dudes arent they?!

well i had the same problem today with sum wanker in a v8 ford falcon (it was a nice car il give him that). well ne way i was just behind him and i go to over take as he ws doin 40 in a 60 zone. then he decides that i was going to racve him so he matches my speed when all i want to do is pull back into teh left hand lane. get to a set of lights and im thinkin ohh great. lights go green he gets mass wheel spin an smoke peeks sum rubber then flogs it of. meen while im just driving as usal. he turned of at teh next set of lights (only 200m away). well im there thinkin good thats the end of that when a bloody motonike cop pulls up next 2 me and taps tyhe glass. i wind my window down and hes starts yelling at me. "its not a holden first ford race buddy". i go that wasnt me and he just goes next time you wont be so lucky. f uckn hell this piss's me of. blame the P plater for sumin i ddint do! meen while sum utha ### wit gets jack shit. grrrr.

Ive had this a fair bit in my VR, but ill tell you its nothing compared to the ammount of bogans/noob jockeys that try to race my mate in his nissan 180sx, it's crazy fords,holdens,other japs, and beamers all pull up and start reving. Haha and the funniest bit is you see their head going from the traffic lights to you then back to the lights and as soon as its orange they start ha classic.

yeah, thats annoying too, someone will be sitting under the limit, so naturally you go to over take them, then they race ahead (only to slow back down to the speed they were at before!!!)

racing at the lights can get a bit frustrating (although, hypocritically, i have been known to take off from lights now and again)...but i was talking about in moving traffic, they actually slow down next to you while your driving and match your speed, its pathetic....some friday and saturday nights it'll happen half a dozen times, and im usually on my way to or from work!

Its not annoying when you know you'll thrash em. I always give them a warning, like a torque pull on about 1/4 throttle in 3rd without kicking down into 2nd and it accelerates like a mofo. Love the blower! Another one i like is giving it a quick stab at about 40 kays lighting it up for a split second. They dont wanna play after that...

I get it in vic all the time... I'll be cruising around in the VN, taking it easy, next thing you know you've got a moron next to you gunning it then backing off, gunning then backing off.... i must admit it used to get me revved up but now will these confiscating laws in vic I've backed off...

At the end of the day, i'd rather have my license and my car than have a d1ck contest with some dropkick.

lol, 9 times out of 10 its almost definately going to be me thrashing them if i actually wanted to. it just aways seems to happen when im really not in the mood for their bullsh*t...and i value my car and life too much, who knows what the jackass in the other car might try to pull.
on exactly the same road as i was speaking about in my story (first post ^) a guy in a falcon got himself killed for racing another ford. from what i could gather (from the papers and looking at the aftermath) they were racing each other at 150k's+, the road merges from two lanes to one, the bloke in the right wouldnt give and the poor bastard in the left lost control trying to get over and skidded across four lanes into a power pole, connecting right into the drivers door, killing him instantly.
its all fun and games till someone gets hurt.

i've had it quite a few times too. As of a week ago, i now drive a WRX subaru aswell as the VK SS and have already had an idiot trying to have a run down a hwy over here (perth). i was in the rex and he was in a vp 5l, i just looked at him as if to say "you're a tool" and just kinda shook me head. I was on me way home from work and really wasnt interested.Iive had it heaps in the SS too, sometimes have run em but most of the time i just let em go and ignore em. In the SS i get idiots in ricers etc and in the ricer ( wrx ) i get idiots in commodores/falcons!! the only reason being both are done up/nice cars

and usually these people hate being overtaken by a semi. when i was a semi driver i'd be in a rush to get somewhere and they'd be cruising but there was no way they'd let a semi past. or worse they fly up on you then cut in front only to hit the brakes with a semi on their arse to turn into the next street instead of pulling in behind the truck and taking an extra 5 seconds.

also, i had a bloke in one the model before the ea-ed. damn cant remember the model code. either way i took off at the lights and he decided to give the boot and race me, great.... i was in a pidssed off mood so i just drove a bit harder than normal. nothing amazing, no warp speed 10!. so i get sick of this bloke being a wanker, so i pull off the road and up a side street. the guy follows me up my arse all the way. so i slowwwwwww right down at each speed bump and just be a sunday driver. then i come in to the main street of my home town and decide i want some grog or something of the kind and so pull in a parking space. the bloke slows down expecting me to jump in my car again and race him more. he realises that its not going to happen and so speeds offgoing on the wrong side of a roundabout!

As for wankers who pull up beside, i find alot of them are in wrx's and platers in commodores..why do 6 cylinder morons always think they have some sort of chance. Hilarious when you see sa guy giving it to his 6, while my tacho doesn't go past 2400.
