firstly congrats and enjoy. secondly, you seem proud to be defected (sub-username tells me you think its a joke). i hope your attitude toward safety and driving changes dramitically between now and then.

No fun being able to drive, but not having a car to do it in...

i'm not proud to be defected and it's not a joke. why would i find it funny when it means i have no car to drive for the first part of my P's?
im really going to be proud of not being able to drive my pride and joy..

is it really a 308? i though maybe you couldnt drive it anyway.

in reference to your defect, i got the impression by some of your posts you thought it was bullshit. its done for a reason. 'deFUCted' also portrays an immaturity i wouldnt want to share the roads with.
    since you asked.....

but anyway, goodluck getting it back on the road, its a pity it was let become defective in the first place. enjoy driving and remember not to be a hero like some of the kids around here.

    no it's a 202.
i made my username before i got my car.
i do think my defect is bullshit. my car was 1cm too low.
my car would handle better than a stock vk, and would have more grip on the roads.
its all revenue raising, they target the nicer looking cars because they know the owners will spend money to get them past = more money for the government, they don't target the rusted buckets of crap driving around that could fall apart at any second because they know the owners will just dump them and buy another rust bucket = less money for the government.

    Hey,
I'm getting my P's on November 19th. I can't wait to ride my VL Commodore on the roads. A sense of freedom I can't wait to enjoy, in regards to your defected vehicle, how did it get defected?

we were driving past a shopping center and the police followed us out of there, they looked up my rego and seen that i was on my L's so they pulled us over (i was letting my friend drive it on his P's)
then they defected it for being too low, sports steering wheel, battery not clamped in and tail light out.
they didnt even measure it, they just said "i dont know off the top of my head what the legal limit is, but thats not it"
i ended up finding the measurements for VK's.. and my car was only 1cm "too low"

lol when I was in Adelaide in July the cops kept on following me, but they didn't pull me over. The only things they can get defect me for are my wing led light, no horn and the right parker light didn't work.
Probably driving with QLD plates being 20 and on my opens with a clean record except being caught driving 130 on a 110 road driving to Adelaide at the time with no demerit points lost

Yup good stuff - just use your head - avoid 'good mates' who might bring you undone when driving, they are bad news pure and simple.

Stealth is good. Your driving career is to avoid any interaction whatsoever with the highway patrols, except in the offering assistance in an emergency.

Avoiding police interaction by the roadside means not having to pay voluntary taxation into government consolidated revenue, which in turn is used to pay all sorts of outgoings, from leftist 'arty' causes to MPs salaries.

This also means you won't gain any demerit points, these must be avoided, do not collect them!

Before you start mucking about with your vehicle, I do suggest you buy a few safety items and store those in it, a safety vest, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, triangle.

Know how to use the items, your states primary driver handbook now tells you how, when and where.
Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. I suggest Hella Part Number 2901 - $70, OR http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...215554#details. Accepted under AS3790. http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/media...eSafePart4.pdf

    Congrats.

But if I catch you being an asshole on the road, watch out!
