Thinking about going up to NSW to stay with a friend for a weekend, Then continue up to QLD find somewhere to stay reasonably cheap etc... An maybe continue around aus a little bit...
Suggestions?!?!?

Then off to NSW where i visit BENJI, Then maybe meet up with few other people there.
Then continue up to QLD, Say a big hello to garth, see another friend of mine up there... And maybe organise another quick car meet/get together lol... Go across to the NT maybe i dunno.....
I rekon i can get 1000km+ on full tank of gas & petrol(I would drive on gas most of the time an use petrol as reserve because you can always take a jerry can of petrol an u cant of gas).... I'd prob take up 2 spare wheels... All tools I needed.... Stuff like that. Some oil, coolant, Oil filter... I'm actually hunting for a VN car bra at the moment... And some HID spotties i can mount in my front bar... I'd take my Car jump park which is chargable via 12v cig, so it'd be fully charged an if i needed it i could use it.
I would take my laptop... I would take gps... And get australian maps on laptop... Sit it on passenger seat... Perfect...
Thinking about making a decent trip out of this...
Cheers

Having seen the Eastern seaboard from Townsville to Melbourne I can tell you that you cannot comprehend how much there is out there. If you get up north I've heard that a pub called the woolshed in cairns is worth a look. I would recommend checking out Arlie Beach, Sunshine coast, Gold Coast Brsibane, Coffs Harbour at least.
yeh gold coast on a friday and saturday night is awesome except for the 10,000 turbo skylines, they park out at the spit near sea world and its pretty intimidating

heh just dont get your car confiscated making your way out of a town lol
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
how about if you organise this trip around the same time as summernats?
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
go to schoolies week.
yeh im with troy, the only good time to come to canberra is when summernats is on, other then that it really is a shit hole and r too many pollies around
lol mat i can make ya trip cheaper no gps required or maps take me :P
anyway this is what i recommend and this is from weeks of planning
esentials
1 jerry of petrol FULL at all times (you never know)
2 of water
2 spare tyres
essential tools
a back up reserve of money in an undisclosed account and keep your bank card in your shoe or what not for that account (that isnt touchable unless you yourself wander into a bank and withdrawl it)
DO NOT pick up hitch hikers any further than 50kms from a major city (more so out bound)
DO NOT EVER stop for anyone in NT or top of W.A (broken down or not)
take a tent you never know if you might need it if anything happens with the car
ice and heat pack
snake bite kit
first aid kit
let ppl know where you are and where you weill be so if anything happens you arent gone long b4 the search parties out
ALWAYS check engine levels EVERYDAY
take a 2t load limit rope of 5m or longer
take jumper leads just incase jump pack fails
thats about what i can think of atm

yeah feel dick tho
Suggest you invest in a swag if you don't already have one. Easier than a tent and cheaper than accomodation.
Throw in a spare fan belt. A commodore doesn't last long if you break one!
if u go and visit BENJI be sure to come and visit the ppl in Newcastle(like me :P)

Im not too sure on that one mate. Imagine it was you broken down & no-one would stop.Originally Posted by smokey_dj

alright point taken i didnt actually mean everyone its more to the point i wasnt trying to be racist
ive known ppl to stop to help an aboriginal person up those areas and when they stopped they were jumped by his 10 mates behind what ever and stole there car and left em there to rot like i said not being racist it can happen anywhere anytime and by anyone but ive been told a fair few times this happens and mainly there the cause
also mat stick to the truckies sysatem and you cant go far wrong its law anyway for truckies
8 hours play (rest stops and meals
8 hours work (driving)
8 hours sleep
alst if your driving windy rds n hwy/fwy stop every 4 for 10 or so mins
and it you go on to the nullaboring every 2 hours make it a habit it could save your life out there
also on the nullaboring DO NOT drive at night its just too easy to clean something up out there countless interstate truckies have told me this and if you are to drive at night ask to follow a truck at a safe distance at least that way they hit what ever you just cop the aftermath from it that will be messy but wont destroy ya car

I've got a cb/uhf I can throw in my car aswell, full brackets & aerials.....
Cheers for the help Smokey
