Just wondering if anyone caught the channel 7 tribute tonight. It was easily one of the hardest things i have ever had to watch in my life, and seeing Craig Lowndes (another of my racing heros) break down when interviewed was the icing on the cake. It was a good 1hr of tears.
RIP 05
i watched some of it, but i was at work so i missed a bit. i hope they have an encore presentation. anyone here tape it?
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
I'm hoping someone here has a copy of it as I was at work as well and my DVD recorder decided that tonight of all nights it was going to play funny buggers and not tape anything![]()
Good show. Loved some of the older racing footage. Plus it really showed brocks off the track personality.
i taped it. haven't watched it yet. looks like a tear jerker. although i also found the show before it with eric clapton quite sad....
i watched it, it was a pretty sad thing to watch
RIP 05

in all honesty it was crap. you didnt learn anything about brocky or his life, all they did was get a heap of people together to answer stupid questions. like when the asked larry perkins to tell everyone about the polariser... he pretty much avoided the question because (to me) it seemed as if he thought it was rubbish. CH7 basiclly got as many faces as they could together to try and say 'hey, look at who we are talking to!' to me a tribute should be a 'this is your life' kinda story, telling you all about someone and how they lived their life, not random questions and retarded presenters.
the real tribute will be by channel 10 and their coverage of bathurst. atleast they seem to care about the man and not ratings.
Yep all true! I watched half of it and turned it off upset.Originally Posted by Troy711

Yep, I agree Troy. When they spoke to Larry Perkins (who btw is right up there in legend status with Peter Brock IMO) he just ended up blowing his own trumpet about how he beat Brockie at his last Bathurst!Originally Posted by Troy711

yeah i didnt think it dove into Brocky's history right, i would of liked to of seen more of his younger antics and what not. it was a sedimental viewing but i felt a little disappointed at how it was presented. and adverts. argh!
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
drop me a pm. happy to wack it on a cd and post to you (my connection is to slow to do it over here...)Originally Posted by crazyspoon05
Did you see the footage of that bloke who got Brocky to sign his back, and then got his signature tatooed over?
Now I'm not a tatoo kind of guy, but that's the first time I've seen a tat and said "I'd get that"...
i agree. i have a few tatts already, my next will be a tribute to the great man.Originally Posted by davey g-force

I am so very glad i met him a few months back, he was an inspiration to all who sought it.
Will be sadly missed
