My ex had an aftermarket A/C put on her corolla by toyota & all it did was cook the engine.
Apparently the non genuine air cons not being designed correctly for the car can overwhelm the cooling system. I would make sure that you get a written guarantee before getting someone to fit the system.
My sons '93 Corolla Seca twin-cam has factory air-con, and we have seen a couple at wreckers yards with it fitted. maybe it would be worthwhile having a poke around a wreckers and seeing about pulling it all out of a wreck and having the original system fitted? Might cost a bit, but if the rest of the car is in prime condition, it is worth it...
...especially if the Corolla in question has a 4A-GE twin cam...![]()
Might be easier and cheaper to get a new girlfriend..... HEHEHE
haha yeh that could be a good idea Hairy...ive been busy so havnt had the chance to find out yet...hopefully il do it tomorrow...thanks vt and wombat for your help.
Prehaps try a toyota specific wrecker? Theres a couple down here in melbourne they have every part we've needed for my mrs' celica...
