nah from everyone i have spoken to its def not worth the money, with very very very minimal gains in power i cant see y it would be, depends on the condition of the car too id say.

all marketing crap, the only advantage is theyre reusable so over 5 or so years it would pay for itself assuming you replace the paper filter every 6 months...

$120 for a k&n panel filter is a rought, look around and u should find cheaper, i got mine not on sale from american autos/rare spares in parramatta for $80. I didnt notice much power difference, but definetly difference in engine response, but i mainly bought it because its reusable.

k & N filters have basically zero air restriction but really its not good unless your ecu has been modified to suck in more air. it will however help a little bit on a stock engine with a bit more response. but nothing big in the gains however all the small things do add up.

they are worth it not for the pwer gain but for the fact they are reuseable it saves u buyin numerous standard ones and generally help air flow a bit better

I bought one for my VN and it did sweet stuff all.. But, combined with a cold air intake and better airbox it's a tiny bit more responsive.. I think its one of those "shit everyones got a K&N I better get one" type things...

They are re-useable, but you don't get the cleaning stuff when you buy the filter, you have to buy it all seperate which is crap...

K&N also have an oil filter, supposed to do all this whiz bang crap for like 5 times the price of a normal ryco filter that does the same shit.

As totq said, K&N is good for people who have spent decent amounts of money on thier engines.

I got a K&N from Shounak though, partly cause I installed neons to his car. I certainly wouldn't spend $120 on one though.. Bit beneficial factor is re-usable etc. I wouldn't mind testing out a K&N Pod though, with Heat Shield.. looooooove the induction noise!

I remember once i read a street machine mag and they tested all types of filters including K&N panel and pod, Paper panel and pod. and they were all the same acording to them. Not enough power gain worth bragging about.

I found i had no real gain when i had it it me VN.....

But when i swapped it to the VP it was just gettin 2b 1yr old, i could feel more difference than when i put it in the VN.....
Maybe coz i had a yr of use it was pickin up more crap than new, but this would only restrict it more as it would be dirty, but this would make it suck less air....

Im not sure but i can say that i noticed more diff with a Yr old one in the VP than wen it was new in the VN....gain was not much, maily throttle response...

Id say that the difference most people are noticing when they put them in is because the old one was dirty. Id rather pay $10 for a paper filter several times than 120 at once anyway

what do you mean by they're 'reusable'... i thought when they filled up with that black crud you binned them. can you wash them or something. i heard air and oil filters needed to be changed every 12 months...
