my mate got done speeding 36k's over the limit on his L's
he was on his dads motorbike with L's plates displayed
he told me 10min ago and i still cant stop laughing![]()
anyone else hear of someone getting done speeding wile on there L's
lol i'm on my L's one night coming home from school thought id test the power of mums new lexus and i booted it up a hill now its a 60km/h zone and i reckon i probably hit bout 95km/h, little did i know there was a copper positioned on the other side of the hill. i slammed on the brakes and passed them at about 30km/h lol. nuthing happened, but i tell you what i'm never speeding round that hill again
Getting done for speeding on a motorbike is understandable....thats because your too busy on the lookout for other idiots that are gonna pull out infront or merge into your lane without looking or do that illegal right u-turn infront to be noticing that your speed has creeped up over 10 kms the limit...but 36kms over ??? ha ha ha !

What is actually better in a situation like this is not to take the lerner drivers or P-Platers licence away (as long as they haven't been doing anything seriously dangerous), but to put them back to one point with a big fine.
My son got done on his P's and has one point left...he has about a year to go.
Having only one point, he watches his speedo like a hawk and checks his car over regularly for any blown indicator bulbs, headlight bulbs, any little defects. I've told him that all it takes is the wrong cop and a blown light bulb to be a "minor vehicle defect", and there goes that one point.
It certainly makes the person drive a lot more carefully if they know there's such a fine line between driving and walking...![]()
hes not happy because its a $350 fine![]()
so now he will have to wait a little longer b4 he gets his first car
and he got done by a actual cop not a camera but he said he hasnt got his L's disqualified, YET.
will he loose his L's or just have to stay on them for longer![]()

Good riddance, another idiot off our streets.
He'll lose his license for a minimum of 1 year.
The difference between L's and P's is that you actually don't have a license per se. You don't have any points, any infringement and you lose it for some period of time. The demerit points system is not in effect with L's. Depending on the infringement you appear before a magistrate and are at the complete mercy of what they decide... Opposed to the guidelines laid out for other licenses with the demerit system you have a leg to stand on.
L's are treated as if they are a gift, and they have the right to revoke it at any time for any amount of time. P's and beyond are treated as something you've earnt and they need reasonable grounds to revoke it.
A guy I know got done doing a burnout in a carpark and lost his L's for 2 years.

As if your dad encourages you to do 30+ kays over the limit. Hes got a lex so im assuming he must have some brains. the only time my old man let me go over was when we were on a country raod and he was positive there were no radars or po po's around. He only let me 100km/h just to get a feel for it.
A Wanker in geelong had his friends or whatevers car impounded last weekend for doing burnouts...god i love these new laws.

Que? Why is it that so many people assume that a nice car automatically equals intelligent/skillful owner? Saw a tourist in a V8 X5 trying to get himself killed this afternoon, but obviously I was mistaken in what I saw because the owner of a $150,000 vehicle must be extraordinarily intelligent and definitely wouldn't overtake into oncoming traffic, high beams blazing just to get into town 15 seconds ahead of the car he overtook.
I almost got done for speeding on my L's, in NSW L platers are limited to 80km/h, I was trying to merge with traffic doing 110, only sensible option was to do the same speed as them. Just after the merge I passed a HP car on the side of the road and promptly shat myself. He didn't seem interested though, turns out that my front L-plate had come off somewhere between oakdale and camden. Thank christ for that.
Beau Duke: Man, I'm never gonna get outta this car again. I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

I assume because MOST people who have expensive cars have well paying jobs and MOST of these well paid people would have to have some sense about them. And MOST people that have some sense will know not to let their 16 yeard old son do more than 30km/h over the speed limit in their precious Lexus. I do know some stupid people with alot of money however and its s**ts me.
I dont see the real problem in doing a burnout unless its in a tight carpark with heaps of cars and people around. Its not like you going to kill yourself. You only cause injury to your car. While doing a burnout your doing about 2km/h. I say speeding is 1000 times more dangeous.
Australia. Love it or leave it
so what happens when you go to leave the smoked out area and your burn out at say 40-60+ and go straight in to oh, say the light pole you weren't aware of that was 50ft away when you started but is now 10ft away either side-on or head-on and kill one of said mates?
hypotheticly speaking ofcourse..............![]()
let me guess, "that wouldn't happen to me 'cause i'm such a good driver" would be your answer?
think again, shit happens.
If you cant see where your going why would you speed off into know where? That would be stupid. wait till the smoke settles. Do you think doing a burnout is more dangeous then speeding?
Australia. Love it or leave it
well for one thing youre wearing out your tyres so that when your car is back on the road, youre tyres are less effective. youre purposely damaging a roadworthy requirement of your car, increasing your stopping distance, and reducing the grip you have on the road.

"wait till the smoke settles"? so i assume you've never held it in 2nd or 3rd to keep it spinning while leaving a static burnout?![]()
i'm not saying i'm an angel on the roads...........![]()
but usually to two (speeding and skids) are combined in some form or another.
however, doing a burnout in a car park is just as stupid as doing one in an intersection. 'cause who knows where the next car might come out from.![]()
all i'm saying is, do it in a competition or on private property. that way you can do whatever the hell you please and it won't really matter.![]()
yep i see what everyone is talking about, and i cant exactly say anything because ive done stupid stuff to (like every body) and im sure 150 in a 80 zone isnt a good idea, exspecially on L's.. and that was in the country with no one around but i never speed in the city or where there are other cars, (accasionally i may go above the speed without noticing because im just cruising, but i correct it) and yeah. now i get worried about going 10 km's over the speed limit now let alone 35 because my sister got a fine for going 3km's over.... so yeah everyone learns from their mistakes and hopefully he learns before he hurts himself....
and yes dont worry people i know it was stupid and i dont do it any more so i guess ive learnt![]()
