Okay so at the moment im confused alittle, mainly because it's comming time for me to buy a car. My budget is 10k and i love holdens as much as the next holden fan but im falling towards a REALLY nice 1990 Nissan 300zx twin turbo V6 5spd for 10k. I want a Holden but just no sure!
Nate
funny but i dunno, two snails dosent sound feminine to me.....
hmm if ya like nissans go fort eh 350Z (but mite be a bit pricey). on the utha hand you can get a realy nice commy for 10k. VX-VT calais or maybe a older stato
BA MKII MANUAL XR6T
450+ RWHP, 960 Nm, 12.9 @ 114MP/H [Street Tyres]
300xz's are nice cars but personally i think they're only good in a stright line, old workmate had a twin turbo'd 300z, even with decent tires on he reckons he lost it around a couple of corners here and there without pushing it
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
only good in straight lines???
1. people need to learn to drive RWD cars, like the americans claiming the RWD buicks loose control, pfft :P
2. they go HARD, good weight distrobution (pfft crap handling)
my mate had one and holy **** it was good, not a chicks car PFFT :P the car sits low to the ground so it dosnt drag much,
over all a very good and well puttogether car, a bit annoying to work on the engine due to the space but a very nice car with 2 turbo's slapped onto the side of it
Yeah i thought it was pretty good being a twin turbo v6 5 spd rear wheel drive with lsd, isnt the fairlady the chicks version of the 300zx?
Nate
consider the cost of parts when things go wrong. remember, it might be quick, it might be the in thing, but if you are willing to use most of your budget just to buy the car its going to hurt when something breaks.
like mentioned above, id steer toward a decent calais or soemthing. parts are cheap and available and you can use this site to do all the work for you!
i agree with vlv8vic they go good when they are goin and talkin from a mechanics perspective they are a bitch of a car to work on so when they break down expect to pay out of ur arse
300zx is a very powerfull non feminine car. Its up to you tho, if you wish for power, then the 300 will not disapoint the. Mechanical side, parts = costly and is is quite tight under the hood.
Tekka, just a few things to consider, cost of insurance, cost of parts, the availability of parts too, for these issues stay with holden imo, just my 2 cents
Charge'd has a good point there. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? Because Insurance will be a BlTCH if your under 25.
Just small bit of info i have on the 300zx
Nissan quote 6 hours to change the spark plugs
Even with Platinum plugs in the back they are still going to need changingmore often as the motor gets older and it's allready 16 years old
All good valid points guys thanks alot! Im 20 right now so im still young in the eyes of everyone i guess, Id love to have a awesome sporty car that goes like a rocket but then again all the points that have been mentioned do weigh up, i guess when it comes time to buy then ill know, but i think ill end up going Holden anyway![]()
