Hi guys, my Dad will celebrate his 60th birthday soon and I need some ideas on a present. So far my older brother has got one of those special papers from paper house which is from his birthday in 1946.
I could get him something like a very expensive Scotch or nuts, but that doesn't do it. I want something that will not be consumed in 5 minutes but will be in his memory until he falls off the perch I guess.
I would love some ideas. If your Dad did or was going to turn 60, what did/would you get him for his birthday?
Thanks a lot,
Craig.
take him on a mystery flight. where you show up at the airport with your tickets and fly somewhere for the day.
i recon that mystry flight idea sounds good memorys are far better then objects.
for my gfs bday i took her for a hot air balloon ride and she loved it

We will miss you Brockie
my plans for my old mans 50th or 60th is to give him that hotrod he always wanted....
there's a company somewhere down south that make watches out of a penny from the year of your choice. perhaps not the year he was born, but maybe the year he and your mum married
or, what about contacting an old friend or reli that he hasn't seen in years and get them together to catch up and share stories of the good ol' days?

Please keep them comingA mystery flight isn't a good idea. It will only go to Tassie, Sydney or Adelaide 95% of the time.
He has been to those places in the last few years.
Scuba Diving, Hot lap in a V8 super car, Get/Make a tribute DVD-Video complete with slideshow/music backing and footage (it's not consumable), Shiny new computer (you can get/build them cheap these days for a good performer), Toolbox with an engraving/customization, those custom made dash mats people sometimes have (might not be good if he sell the car), personalised xxxxxxxxxxx (anything personal is always good), nice surround system for the lounge.. it's all about how much you want to spend, what he's into and what he's already got enough of!
if hes the sentimental sort maybe compile a photo album full of special photos throughout his life.
Has he a favourite car/motorbike? if so maybe hire one and go for a nice cruisey drive to a favourite spot?
Has he got some old friends he hasn't seen in a few years? maybe organise a visit from/to them
U said mystery flight is out, what about just a regular flight u can organise it to somewhere he hasn't been.
Have a portrait done of him, it could be something realistic or a hilarious characture
Viagra..... j/k lol that would be seriously embarrassing!
parents got a mystry flight one of a few yrs ago ANTARCTICA![]()

yeah feel dick tho
well this may seem obvious and boring but have your thought about a ring? with an engraving in it (like a couple words about something you's always joke abut? or something that means something u's to have)
or you could get him a necklace with a plate type thingy on it and they usually put pictures on them of your choice (maybe get a picture of you with him when you were a baby?)
thats all ive got, but it will be with him to the end.....
