hey guys this has bugging me since the new laws have been talked about. what happens if your already on your Ls but cant get them till after july 1st next year? because that will stuff alot of people up.

Means ur stuffed.... From what I know. Because you wont have your P's untila fter the cut off date.

Yeah im alright I make it in by 2 weeks but just wondering as people will have to have there L's for a year meaning they will be 17 and a half before they get their p's

i'm sure in most states that you can get a learner's at 16.5 yrs old ... maybe 16 yrs in some ...

conditions of transition from l's to p's

-no time limit or hors to build up (not law enfor4ced only recommended 120 hours in all contions)

-computer test and drving test (not allowed to do on same day)

after july 1st 2007

-compulsory log book of at least 120 hours all condition to be co signed by full licence driver

-min 1 yr of practice (still undecided law)

-computer and driving test (not on same day)

1 year on red p's (as long as you behave and dont get speeding fines HD 24's ect or the times extendeed as the current system stands

2 yrs on green p's (same as above conditions)

they wont let you resit the test the next day youll hafta come back a few weeks later (i.e. stuffed)

u would be lucky lol too just make it in but have u booked the test or is that when ur gunna book the test, coz i no up here its over a month wait an i can c its gunna be booked out to the max b4 the date comes in lol for all thoese who wonna get in b4 it.

i'm not, i am 18 now, but i cannot drive performence cars, as i am performance restrictd so angry cos all my amtes ahve performence cars, and i hav eto do without, got my p's july 29!!!!

i heard new rules are being inforced now? 120 min hours..
a mate of mine got his Ps before july 2005, he drives a xr8 ute.. and got caught for speeding by a camera. does this mean he cant drive the v8 anymore?
or do you actually have to loose your licence first??

depends what state he's from
in nsw: if he got his p's before 11th july 2005, then he's unrestricted(i.e. can drive performance vehicles)
anyone who gets their p's after that date is restricted from driving v8's, turbocharged or supercharged vehicles

In NSW:
L's - 16yrs old, computer test (must log 50 hours, having it for atleast one year)
red P's - min. 17y.o, driving test ( min. one year)
green P's - min 18y.o, computer test ( min. two years)
