how do you find out history of a car?

hi all,

if my memory serves me correctly there is a site that you can go to and enter your rego or vin number and you can find out the history of your car ie, how many prevous owners, accidents etc etc

does anyone know what site this is??

Yeah Im pretty sure there is, Id like to know myself, and i think they show the k's that it was last rwc'd or reg'd so stop ppl windin back the clock or somthin. But yeah, reallly wanna know too, any one know?

Hey what happens if your VIN records more than 1 or no matches ..... my VN VIn does it every time ... thought it was a glitch so i tried my mums VIN and hers worked....

i thorght i'd give my debit visa card a shot for the first time online
paid the $26 expecting to see who the last owner was beofre me and shit
that site is a ****ing rip off and told me shit i already knew all it gave me was
my engine numbers,vin, and that it was a white commodore
i presume it would be good if you where looking to buy a car as it took less than 30seconds for the resaults but for $26 a bit pricey

Dude, thats messed. Id be complaining straight away. But i swear there is one out there, i have heard of it and im not paying a cent, as it is just a curiosity for me. That sucks though, sorry to hear

Vcheck provides information to assist in the decision to purchase a second-hand vehicle or trailer. The following information may be included on Vcheck:

* Vehicle identification information (for example, VIN, engine number, make, model, fuel type, purpose of use, body shape, year of manufacture, colour, seating capacity and cylinders / rotors and so on)
* Vehicle status information (for example, stolen status, written-off status, registration expiry date)
* Vehicle history information (for example, transaction date and type, engine number, purpose of use, odometer reading, postcode where vehicle is garaged)
* REVS (Register of Encumbered Vehicles) information (for example, outstanding finances)
