Fish Tanks

Hey Everyone

Bit off the topic on this one but noticed a thread on tanks ealier so i fort id see how many of us have fish tanks as a second hobbie to commies

Ok so wat ive got in my tank are tropicals
3 x mature male bristle-nose catfish
4 x mature female brislte-nose catfish
8 x adolestent bristle-nose catfish
4 x albino bristle-nose
about 60-100 baby brislte-nose catfish that ive breed in the past 6months almost ready to sell
3 x large clown loaches
2 x med clowns
3 x pakistani or yo-yo loaches
8 x kuhli loaches 2 of em are brown rest are striped
1 x Pleco
1 x Glass catfish
1 x Angle
1 x Rainbow shark
a few Cory catfish

Ive got em all in a 3ft x 1.5ft x 1ft tank
And the baby's are in a lil 1.5ft x .7ft x .5ft

Ive been breeding my bristle-nose for bout 6months now had 4 batches now and have only lost about 20 in that time.....
In a yr or so i will be breeding these albino bristle-nose catties n should be make a few bucks off those.....

Anyways i havent got any pics for ya's but ill chuck sum up if this thread stays ere.....

Mods u can get rid off this if u want i only put it up coz there wasnt much goin on.....Should be a a fish forum but i like me commies too....

So ppls if uve go a tank at home n u just love to sit n stare at them let us know wat u got in ya tank......

PS anyone wanna buy sum baby bristle-nose @ $2ea 2-3cm long b4 they go to the shop....

1st pic are my albino bristle-nose babies bout 5cm
2nd pic is my Best Male Bristle-nose all bristles have triple forks or more
3rd is a 1 and a half yr old male brislty just gettin bristles last 3months
4th Big female Bristle-nose with lil baby
5th are the babie bristle-nose only a week old
6th is a Juli Cory that got its tail bitten off by a Clown Loach that was goin skitz while feeding
7th is My top tank n Breedin tank underneath but cant really see it
8th Driftwood creation with Clown Loach hiding (black n orange)

Anyways hope u like tha pics there soo hard to get good onse unlike cars

um cheap got 4 babies 6months ago for a trade on a Geopharagus Surinamenis bout half grown (10-13cm)that i got off me uncle that he bred...
I swaped the Geo for 4x baby albino's and a lil pleco....

They are now about 4-5cm long and have just noticed one startin to throw his bristles so ive got a definate male n dunno yet on the others but will definately get a breeding pair outta the 4...

In the shop they go for bout 20-30ea

the filters are Ehiem Pro 3 and pro 2 thermo with a dupla CO2 kit

2 geofagus surinamensis
2 firemouths
2 albino bristlenose
1 pepermint bristlenose
2 sand whiptails

filters are aquaone CF-1200 and a eheim 2026 pro 2

Ohh Pepermints NICE.....
My uncle breeds them has bout 15 adults....
Surinamensis are nice eh mine was bout half grown then had to swap him coz he was just startin to get teritorial....

U got sum nice fish FU2 spose workin in a aquarium would help....

Troy they would wanna be a adult breeding pair at that price.....
My mate got a 10cm male for $55 up ere.....

our tank (an aqua one ar980) has pez fish... mainly barbs and gouramis we do have a black ghost knife. his name is scooter cos he scoots around on top of the water. we bought him 3 months ago and he has doubled in size (from about 5cm to 10+)

i used to have an oscar who had attitude. you could pat him on the head and stuff . ill see if i can dig up some pics of him

here ya go. he was about 25 - 28 cms long. i got him when he was just 4 - 5 cms. its amazing how much they grow... i knew they got big but i didnt realise he was going to need 2 tank upgrades! i used to love how he would trash his tank by ripping up the plants, knocking stuff over and sucking stones up and spitting them into a pile in the corner :-D

He had 2 tank upgrades too

We alwasy got them in a pair but always only ended up with one....

The live for ages ive had mine for 8yrs now n still kickin well swimmin

It would be hard i recon, hard to just get 2 adults to live in the same tank...
If u want sumfink that is easy to breed n make a ok $$ get sum bristle-nose...

Mine breed every 2-3months....U just gotta have the right setup for the male so that he sits in his hollow n waits for the female to get ready then she kicks him out lays the eggs then the male goes in n fertilises em n fans freash water on them for a week or two then they com out n defend for them self...

They are easy as to breed n make sum ok $$.....40-60 babies a batch @ $3 ea wen 2-3cm long, breed every couple months.....
But then if they are Albino's, Pepermints, Orange spots u can get up 20ea at 2months old...

Ive got about 40-60 common bristlies that are ready to be sold to lower my car ....

i know what you mean about 2 oscars... they always try and kill each other haha. i read that if you get them from the same tank at the same time they usually get along pretty well

I have a standard 4ft tank
have 3 discus 1 red melon 1 ring lepoard and 1 san marah
2 loaches (the orange and black stiped ones)
15 phantom tetras
1 whip tail
and a few little cleaner fish that i dont know what are.
two of the discus keep spawning but they never make it, the loachers always eat them within a few days of hatching

1xFemale Albino Mexican Walking Fish
1xMale Brown Mexican Walking FIsh

they had 3 sets of eggs, ate the first lot, 2nd lot hatched but were eaten in tank by parents, 3rd lot i removed from tank and put in seperate as eggs, they hatched, but died

sorry to dig up a dead thread guys but im about to buy a 3ft tank and set her up over the weekend. i wanna see more pics to get my motivated. so if anyone has a tank post em up!

im gonna get a fresh water tank with crayfish. anyone have or have had cray fish?
