    Default Nissan Skylines

Ok I thought this thread, maybe a interesting topic. (I just hope it stays clean)

Anyway what do you think about the Skylines?

I think they are nice and fast, but I just get a bit sick of them. I'll always like the engine, but the cars themsleves, aren't very appealing anymore.

Maybe it's because they are talked up, as this car, that can never be beaten. (Which is BS)

    Just share your thoughts please.

    yah
nice cars, nice looks (besides R31), nice performance and handling but its the people that drives them seam to let them down for me,

they seam to do stupid stuff and impractical stuff that dosnt apeal to me, im not going to say much as its long the lines off common rice,

for body kits the range avalible is to common around hear, i dont tend to see any of the decent vielside kits and other brands like that,

the engines that were developed were nothing but amazing, the rb series with the aid of turbo or turbos area able to preduce amazing power for a car of its era (rb30) and produce decent performace, with the new series motors the cars were just getting freckishly quick for a factory car.
the motors also are good as they are interchangeable and so are the heads so taht the rb30 can be a rb30det,
and a bonus the rb30 motor bottom end has forged internals stock which can hold to 1100hp

me i chose a vl as its looks, then after finding out more about the motor it was a bonus to have a strong easy to get power out of motor that was also economical, gezz not many 20 year old engines can get 500-600 a tank (60ltr tank)

i like them but i agree with the fact that they all have the same body kits chucked on them, i have seen a few nice one's around. most of the drivers also think that they are the star of the next tokyo drift film.

I don't see what the fascination with them is. I mean over the yeears they have barely changed shape. I myself would prefer a tough looking aussie car wether it be ford or holden that doesn't have the rice-o-meter to go with it. Granted they are a good car in their own right, but i just prefer aussie.

Besides as someone else said, it's a pity about the tools who drive them broooooooooooooooom-pssssssht-brooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom-psssssssht

Pretty sure he would say the same thing.

I too, hate that wanky strangling duck sound, most VLTs make.

Although I love the sound of a RB25/26.

As stated before, that's really the only part of Skylines, I actually like.

IMO I think Supras don't get as much credit, as they deserve. I wish alot more of them, were around.

Don't mind the r31, especially the coupes and the passages, if done right. They look very nice.

The r32 would have to be my favourite skyline of the lot, the simple shape just works, the headlights, the low body. Without any wings, without any kits, lowered with nice paint and nice rims. Mint, cheap insane 4wd power. Unfortunately thats why theres so many of them getting around with 18" wings and ridiculous colours and graphics. Veilside kits? They're the worst looking bodykit ever.

R33's. Ugly. Ugly. Ugly. Only seen a few that I like. Headlights just look so out of place. Big, Bulk, Ugly. One benefit being the rb25det but I really dont like them.

R34, another mint shape, the shape itself is pretty damn tough. The gadgets inside and the power that you can pull out of the gtr's make it another awesome car. Fortunately not anyone can afford an r34 gtr. But they'll start becoming the norm sooner or later.

I love skylines. If they were done to my likings. Just like most cars I guess. But you have to admit, bang for your buck.

The skyline is the new VN commodore for young P platers. From what ive been seeing lately. The older shaped skylines for the less fortunate and the later shape skylines for the spoilt or debt ridden kids. Is anyone else noticing this?

Anyway, I used to hate them, but I've come to like them........R32 is my fav ATm............R34 was originally the only one I liked, then R33 and now R32  Now I kind of dislike the R34........but I have to agree with the bloke that said they're a bit overrated........

well if you put it together getting VL OR VN commodore part with a skyline the commodore parts will end up cheaper and cost less on labour compare to the skylne also the car tuning is different as well

    No doubt about it.

I just find alot of Skyline owners, to have the same kind of attitude, that the typical Commodore hoon has. Only problem is, alot of Skyline owners wont admit it.

No drivers like to admit it. The problem around here is mainly all the vs onwards drivers. Theres not many vl drivers that take there cars out anymore, except for a few young guys, most of the import drivers have some respect for their cars. Most of the idiots I see are the ones in the later model commodores and falcons. Must just be different location- I'm sure its worse down there.

Have to remember aswell, the skyline to japan is basically a commodore. It's just a common everyday car.

skylines are nice but to many ppl buy r33 gts n making them look good thinking they are the best but then realising they slow as hell in a drag.. to many of those drivers spend money on looks rather then performance..

tho they are nice cars sept for the overly ricey ones.. thats why me mates who buy them we make them not look ricey n spend there money more wisely on performance.. also bad thing bout skylines n some other nissan stuff is that u can turn the clock back so they look like they done lower Km's then they actually have n some ppl are dodgy wen selling them.. lol mate was gona buy a black r32 then vin on the engine was missing dudes like it just fell off pfft those shit are bolten in lol so they got the chasy no. looked it up turned out to be some random non skyline car chasy lol some dodgy bastards out there..

Its only the GTR's that earned them the reputation. They are cool cars, but a bit too common and for that reason I would only have a GTR

You can turn back the clock on any car? Mind you its more than likely that the skyline had low km's just a very hard life.

Alot of imports are drift cars before they come here, worn steering wheels, pedals and hand brakes give it away, diff gearbox and engine damage is what you cant see

IMO I think Supras don't get as much credit, as they deserve. I wish alot more of them, were around.
so true, the skyline is so populated. the supra and 3000gt(gto) deserve to be as well known as the skyline and to be honest if i was to buy 1 of them 3 tomorrow i would go the supra or 3000gt just to be different and still get great performance.. so my answer is yes i like skylines... there like any other car, i like nearly all cars if they are done right. if done wrong wellllll its my oppinion and im sure the owner likes it but yeah alot of them get stuffed up in the looks department... personal oppinion.... btw yes alot of skyline drivers are so ****y... one time me and my m8 were cruising and he was borrowing his uncles vnss and a skyline came up and was reving and were like nah we cbf and he wanted to. we beat his ass all 3 times he tryed, then at the 4th set of lights we were like wanna go again? and we laughed and they wound there windows up and took the next corner hahaha funni sh*t....
