Dammit!!!

DAMMIT, went out bowling with some friends the other night and on the way home I screwed up and when I turned a corner the rear shot out smashed into a telegraph pole. Completely wrecked the boot and the rear passenger quaterpanel or whatever it is. Also the passenger doors dont line up now, and they dont seal. Just my luck!! I only just got it back 2 weeks ago from a full passenger side respray! It looks like its a lot of damage, driveable, but totally illegal due to the rear lights being destroyed. Also I dunno if the chassis is bent at all, I cant tell, the doors not lining up kinda makes me think it is bent. I tried at least freeing up the massive dent in the side of the car with a mallet but its pretty crushed in, couldnt really move it, arg I wish that didnt happen!!

who said he was hooning, there could have been gravel or something on the road like there often is at intersections. wet road? he hasnt told us what happened yet

I do admit it couldda been completely avoidable. I am blaming myself here for not going that little bit slower etc. Basically it was a combination of things, I approached the corner a little too quick and oversteered, then the back kicked out and I lost it. Lesson learnt, the hard way

I wasnt going all that fast, it just had a lot of momentum in the swing of the ass end. I wasnt actually speeding, but like I said, a combination of a few things.

Nah only third party cause insurance for me costed too much. Im only 18 and I goto uni cant afford jack. I dont know whats the best thing to do, Im gunna get it assessed and see how much it would cost to get fixed, if its basically a write off I guess Ill part it out or sell it as a wreck, its a berlina so its got a few things people would want I guess.

you might want to look at getting another one. with the price of vr's these day's it might be just as expensive buying another one as to repairing yours.

Yeh the door doesnt shut properly, so Im thinking the chassis is twisted and not worth fixing.

Seems such a shame, its mechanically fine.

Sorry to hear it, then to see the photo's ... Ouch ...

If it were insured, you can back it in that it was going to be written off... I beg of you not to fix it cheaply and then fob it off to someone else to try and make a proffit or something at a later date...

I have seen people do it in the past and it is just not right... Your best bet probably would be to try and find a shell and put all the parts in it .. I have seen heaps of VR/VS shells hanging around wreckers ...

Yeah man, sorry for your loss. Somthing similar hapened to me not long ago but not as bad as yours. I would say your car is dead. Looks like you'll just have to get another vr and transplant parts, or just wreck that one and sell it off peice by peice and buy a new one.
