yeah, USB is aight... but i just got a 3.5mm jack connected to mine, for aux input.. so just plug my iRiver(mp3 player) straight in there...

best cheap value is probably jaycar you get some good stuff for little $$$. As for best quality... dont get me started. But it isnt pioneer or alpine, maybe alpine f#1

pioneer is good, herd good stuff about fusion but id rather a bottom shelf sound4 system over anything sony!

Certain brands are better for different components

Jaycar-good speakers but amps are sometimes criticised for having "noise", both are exceptional for price

Pioneer and alpine are a middle figure for anything really. nice subs, nice amps, alpine speakers and headunits are probably a bit better than pionner.

usually you can get a better sound and volume from mixing and matching brands accordingly to your price bracket.

Focal are making a name for themselves these days. there splits are pretty good

I have just purchased a JVC KD-SH1000 and im stoked with it has a USB & SD car slot, pop in a 4gb SD card and Ill probably barely ever cary a cd in the car again.
As for amps and speakers I picked out JL Audio.
Previously I have used Pioneer & Alpine and been very happy.

yeah im really starting to like the SD card etc. HU's. I didnt know SD cards came in 4gb, but that would definately be the way to go. 5 mp3 cd's worth of music on one card
