Angry Peter brock ford?, i dont think so.

some guy in the classifieds is tryin to sell a peter brock ford 1989 EA fairmont ghia for 4 grand.
now im pretty sure that brock did not do a ford model especially a 1989 model considering that he was driving for the holden racing team at that time!
im was gonna ring him and give a piece of my mind, but i thought i'd ask the experts first

peter brock ford? i do think so...

i guess you also wont beleive that he raced a ford... and a BMW... and a volvo... and raced at the mountain with allan moffat...

and i beleive in 89 peter brock wasnt racing for HRT, he was running his own mobil cars. i think he may have been running sierras at that stage

Yup, he ran BMW M3's in 88, Ford Sierra's in 89 and 90 and also raced a Falcon Auscar at Calder during this period as well (I'm pretty sure he tested a Thunderbird Nascar at Calder at some point as well)

The Brock Falcons were built in a factory in Coburg under the name Austech or something along those lines, I think Mick Webb's SVO may have been somehow involved as well

Wasn't the XE a Dick Johnson project that had the 17 decals on the side of it ?

I can't see Brock doing an XE Turbo when it would have been 2 models old when he was involved with Ford (XE, XF, EA)

someone else posted this link in another thread. brock ford on ebay. i would just like to bring to your attention one of the questions asked:

Q: brocky was a holden supporter...dont think he ever put his name on a falcon
A: if you did some research you would actually know what you were talking about

    this GIF suits it perfect

I think it was a DJ project, Ford also developed an XF I6T AWD concept car that was scrapped when the EA came along. The actual car was written off but is now being restored.

the fact it is still only an EA would keep its price down.

I didn't think the Brock Falcon's were really heavily modified in the first place, I'm pretty sure it was mainly suspension changes and a few interior mods but engine wise they were nearly standard

Anyone else able to draw some light on any other mods ?

1.read the post i said that i thought he only ever drove holdens, i didnt even know he drove for ford.

2.i tried to look on the net but i got sick of reading the same threads about brocks death and people tryin to sell brock everything.

3.there is no pic of the car,ive seen a few crappy old falcons with peter brock obviously fake stickers so i thought it was the same deal.

4.at least i bothered to ask rather then ringing some guy and abusing him

Better to ask first, odds are a lot of fake Brock vehicles are popping up nowadays though so I guess it's hard to tell whats genuine and what's not

When Borcky came out with the Polariser he was droped like a hot spud.
2 earn a dollar he picked up work were he could and he did do a Brock Lada. Dont remember any of the mods but wow a souped up Lada with 47kws of whip lashing power. Should have smoked up the skinny little tyres no probs.

I did work experience at Brock in 87 and 88 so was a bit of a culture shock seeing the 'rebadged' VL's one year and then these Russian cars the year after

The Brock Organisation did all of the pre-delivery and ADR work on the Lada's as they arrived in Australia and while the Niva was quite a good 4wd those Samara's were c$#p. Even new they had bits of trim falling off, etc

Mate at the end of the day its a ford that alone will keep the price down i seen a ea for $200 the other week so 3 grand is good coin for a moldy old EA
and it will only get that sort of coin as its a Brock but this car has no build plate so fair chance its a fake so only worth bugger all.

well the polariser was a load of crap and the ladas were crap aswell.
i gotta admit the ladas serve well as bushbashers.
i would have refused both of those out of shere embarasment

Someone beat me to it...I was going to say "If you are upset by the fact that Brock Fords exist, then you'll be really pissed off about Brock Lada Samara's"....now there was a piece of unmitigated crapola...

edit: and no, there was no turbo on the Russian crap box...it was a "styling" pack, pure and simple...I still remember the Wheels magazine pictures of The Great Man standing proudly beside one, white, I seem to recall, and thinking to myself "what the hell were you thinking, Brocky?"
