    Default reliable cheap car?

Well it doesnt look like im getting my pride and joy back So i have to start thinking about getting a new ride. I am still paying off my VN that got stolen and still at school so i cant afford anything much atm. i am hopfully getting aprenticeship at end of year, so i need a cheap reliable car to last me a little while just to get me to and from work till i can pay off my old vn and save up to buy a new commie.

Can you please list a few cars that are cheap and reliable just to get me to and from work for about 6months? Thanks for all your help.

Any of the mid to late 80's Corolla or Pulsar's are good reliable cars.

I've had an N13 for a while and haven't had to do much at all to it

Thanks for all your input guys i will have to check some of them out.

My auto teacher at school is realy feeling for me because he knows how much time and money i have put into my vn that got stolen so he told me today that he would give my a car. Its a camery wagon. Pretty old, dont know exact year or anything about these cars. Im guessing its about same age as VN. Its manual and the teacher just replaced a few things like starter motor and stuff. It does need a bit of work such as new shocks, back bushes, 2 tyres and there is a hole in muffler.

Does anyone know anything about these cars because i havnt got a clue about anything in them. cheers

Yeah, I know a couple of fella's who drive these things. They don't die. No one in their right mind would steal one either as they are completely worthless and very boring. In other words a perfect daily driver shitheap! Sounds like a good score.

Very hard to go past a Corolla. Cheap to run and super reliable.

Just don't go an auto, the old 3 speed is an absolute POS! Although just like the camry, 1980's corolla's will cop an absolutely terrible flogging without complaint, day after day for years. My aunt and uncle have a 1986 corolla that was coughing and spluttering like it was on its last legs, given that it had been run dry of oil and water multiple times in it's 300,000+Km life it was hardly surprising. Anyway after my old car got nicked I borrowed the corolla to get to and from work, so I figured I'd see if I could get it running a bit smoother. Popped the bonnet and right in front of me there's a dizzy with THREE leads on it! They'd had the damned thing running on three cylinders for God knows how long! Chucked the fourth lead back on and it's still going strong, that was back in february. My point is that 80's toyota's may be boring, but they are completely invincible, bombproof and quite possibly the only thing that will survive the coming nuclear holocaust. ****roaches don't have shit on the corolla/camry for survival chances. Added bonus for mr. Coolvncommodore, you have been offered a camry for basically free, and if that falls through I can probably convince my aunt and uncle to sell you the corolla for next to nothing.
