    Hey all,

    Cheers Julie

So u looking for free hosting or paid professional hosting? as for free hosting, i use the following...

www.freewebsites.com (used to be good before new management)
    www.atspace.com (the best ever)
    www.bravehost.com (for dummies)

i also use url redirection like hakhawk dus with the co.nr

just recently ive been configuring my own web server using IIS = frustrating grrr

for paid hosting, i wouldnt go for somewhere on the net, i would check out local ISP's, they usually offer hosting. or check out your current ISP services.

she wants a .com so shell have to buy it...

+ wants DNS and Hosting so try domainnames.com... basically itll be a 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other sorta thing. You just want to find an asutralian host with the features included in the plan that you need.

in that case check out your local small time ISP, they should have hosting and domain registeration to suit your needs.

Crapsta(telstra) has everything you need to register and setup a website, i used them for 2 years with no problems.

Good luck with ya search.. however.. if it sounds to good to be true, then it is..

Your better off going for someone who offers lower specs as its most realistic..

As for domains, dont pay more then $20 a year AUD for a .com as your getting ripped off.. (BTW, Im in this industry, thats how I know)

Yeah, Servage.net is overselling but their service is top quality. Right now I'm hosting about 80gb of PC game demos and other not so legal files on their servers.

I'm also using about 60gb bandwidth a day.... With 4,500 unique hits on average.

It's been down for about 1 day out of the 6 months I've been with them.
