    Default Firefox 2 Released

I'm surprised someone hasn't mentioned this, then again we aren't exactly nerds on here

Anyway Firefox 2 has been released, not a huge amount of difference other than a couple of cosmetic looking things, spell check is nice that's for sure and will no doubt come in very hand.

Anyone noticed anything ubber different to the previous version?

    Cheers
    Darren

Haven't downloaded it yet. You guys know you can get new themes. iFox is what I've been using since ages ago, lovely theme.

Middle click or Ctrl Click- and Ctrl W are my new friends.

Ctrl Click and Middle click open the link in a new tab. Ctrl W closes the tab.
Ctrl L to get into the address pane.
Ctrl 1-9 etc chooses your tab from open ones.

Just out of interest, I've noticed that TV shows like Today Tonight etc when they promote a website, they ALWAYS use IE. Given that it is so insecure and slow, I'd like to see everyone use a more secure browser. My IE at home has 3 toolbars and whatnot, whereas the same sites I visit Firefox doesn't have any. IE 7 has too much of the same code for my liking, so it's Firefox all the way for me!

Download the .exe, once completed double click on it and follow the prompts.

I wouldn't worry about removing IE though, I've come across a couple of sites which simply won't work with Firefox so keeping IE there just in case is a good thing.

leave ie installed, it is kind of a part of windows, gets messy when its not there, just go here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ click the download it button. double click on the file, let it install and have fun. it even lets u import favourites n stuff from ie

just make firefox your default browser, and you can even get the FF add on which opens the page in IE (incase of compatibility issues with firefox).

After hours of use of the new version I've noticed one very bad thing which didn't happen in 1.5.0.7.

I can be happily browsing around and bang firefox dies as in everything remains up on the screen but you can't seem to do anything at all other than 'force exit' and reload which seems to be ok.

I've had a rotten time with computers over the past month so it could be just me but doing a quick google search I'm not alone.

I still don't like how I cannot use my touchpad to slide in mozilla, but I can in IE, word and everything else, I was meant to install Gestures and I did, but nothing is working still.

Stupid thing, ALT - S to send the posts doesn't work anymore either. So at the moment I'm wishing I didn't upgrade.
