hey wot about hand held police scanners, wots the go with them?

Most of the police in Australia have gone to digital scanners now so unless you have a relatively new (and relatively expensive !!) scanner you can't listen in anymore...

There's a lot of different rules and legislations regarding the legalities of listening in on certain bands and I think it depends on the state or terroritory as to what happens if you are caught with one switched on

not sure about anywhere else but there isnt a restriction here. i know heaps with them and no worries. wouldnt have one blaring in teh car when being pulled over as that just might upset them but no restriction.

yeah, police gone digital.. well here in this area of vic anyway.. was so p!ssed off when i found that out caus i spent $298 on my scanner not that long ago

they havnt gone digital round moree and inverell as yet, i can still here em but yea i was told to that u can have them aslong as it isnt used illegally. had mine in the car a few times, nothin a slide under the seat wont fix.
