Default What are you saving up for?

yes, i know you all think i am doing a jaime and starting random threads... but hey... it lets us all get to know each other right?

so yea, i was thinking and such... what are people saving up to buy? new car? house? fulleh sikk stezza? booze?

im looking at saving around 5K over the next 12 months or so so as i i can buy myself a set of turntables and mixer and a pile of vinyl. im pretty keen on getting into some mixing and yea, i reckon i could give it a good go...

    2 of these:

    and one of these:

i reckon i could save up and have it all by x-mas next year. thats my aim anyway. it just sucks that i dont have anything to listen to records on... so in the meantime ill buy a cheapo record player from dicksmiths just so as i can build up a collection until i do get proper decks

so what are you all saving up for?

I have several "funds" that i use for saving up for things. Currently i have:

The "Buy an iPod" fund - I've always wanted an iPod, and i want to get one sometime within the next few months

The "Buy a Mac PowerBook" fund - I've always loved Mac PowerBook laptops, but the one i have is about 7 years old. I'll probably have enough to buy one in a couple of years.

    and finally...

The "Buy a Holden Commodore" fund - Obviously, i've always loved Commys (why else would i be here?), and in about 5 or 6 years i'd like to get a VT or a VX or something.

I'm actually saving up for something for my car! Since l work in an electrical store (Harvey Norman) l've already purchased all the electronics l have ever wanted.

On my list is a bodykit (VX clubby) and to get my seats re-trimmed. I've already got a quote to order the leather through work, so all l need to know is if the re-trimmer guys could use my leather.

But l might be saving for a PSP:

But first is my interior. Heres what l want it to look like after l paint it:

and here's what l want the chairs to look like:

So we hope to get into dj'ing are we VSUTE?

That interior would look good, not overkill but nice and tidy.

I'm saving up for another vl for a project car/ so I can get my brakes upgraded, my transmission and tailshaft fixed, and my engine boosted. Apart from that some new splits for the stereo, some new tint for the car.

New pc would be lovely as I've got all the other nice stuff I want but the pc is slowly letting me down.

New mobile phone, I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the nokia 6260..

Why nokia though? Personally l'm waiting for the motorola razr

Actually, reading up on the 6260, it sound like a real top phone from nokia!
    The design is beautiful aswell!!

Oh here we go...I can feel a battle comin on!

I gotta save for a mixer too, but not until I get another job, ATM I have to save to live. Are those faders replaceable? You need to get ones that are otherwise you can scratch them off, then youre rooted.

Ahh mainly going with the Nokia cause they've been my last three phones.. This time I'm going for the Symbian OS which is pretty nifty. Only thing I'm not liking about it is the lack of resolution from the camera, but oh well.
Bluetooth/ mp3/ FM radio and Symbian OS is what I'm looking forward too.

That Motorola looks pretty tidy too, only reason I wouldn't want one is my old girls phone is one of the earlier models, and unless the menu'ing systems been changed completely I'll take a pass. But naturally I'm gonna be doing some investigating before I make any commitments.

Well if i was able to save money (i need to find another job, this pizza shop job just isn't cutting it), I'd like to get over to Europe and maybe do a backpacking type tour when I finish Uni, or get a Graphic Design job over there when I do graduate. Also like to save up for a new puter, preferably a mac, i like PC's, bu it just doesn't cut it when it comes to running graphics programs, Mac is much faster at it. Oh, and when I'm finally making decent money, I wouldn't mind buying myself a red Monaro... Red goes faster hehehe
Back in the hope things have settled down...

Yeah, the old motorola menu's were hopless, my mate has the v70 and l swear you need to carry the manual around with you to use the damm thing!
I admidt, l like the newer nokia's, its just l've been turned off them ever since l needed to upgrade from my 6210, they came out with all the far out colours and plastics.

Is it just me or does anyone else buys scratchies in hope that what your saving for will come quicker?

Saving in the valiant attempt of reducing my (rather large) mortgage from 27 years down to 20 years duration. The carrot dangling in front of me isn't big enough.
Also saving for a WH/WK Statesman for the missus (read: me). That carrot is huge and I can taste it real bad!!

Heres some of the wishlist: Lower suspension from Whiteline, bits to recon the RB30, a 90 Litre Macpac, Slate pool table, more xbox games, some 7.2V Nicads and a discharger for my rc cars. Good luck with the DJ stuff VSUTE, I was looking into it ages ago but never got past a set of Phonic speakers.

myself, mainly car stuff ill start the list out ......

    1) DBA fron 330mm cross drilled/slotted rotors , rear 295mm Cross hatched bi sectional rotors (because rear brake get the most loading due to weight transfer) thus why your rear pads always seem to wear out quicker.

    2) A sunroof .... due to gold coast sunny weather being very.... sunny !

    3) either of these will suffice me ... A twin screw Supercharger, Cappa Charger or a Vortech superchager with a nice Blow off valve and they would be intercooled as well BHHHHSTTT ill show the ricers real blow off power......

    4) raise my car up 50mm (this may be moved up in the ranks......)

    5) install some rear splits and get some better alpine amps.

    6) upgrade my 18"x8" mags to 19's (GTO type)

I wouldn't mind a sunroof. They just seem to add that special something when your driving! There a tad expensive though, well for me anyway.

Damm thats nice.... Just the way l like it, no wing!!
A sunroof would look great on that sexy beast. The height seems alright though, l like 'em low, but l'm used to my mates actually taking out there springs so l'm used to low cars l guess... (taking the springs out HAS to be bad for the car l swear)
