In case others have not yet heard, Saddam Hussein is to be executed.

I find it funny that USA want him executed, yet are quick to hide the war crimes they have commited over the year. Anyways, be good to see this guy dead, hope it is televised.

He gets killed for killing people, then the U.S will be attacked by his supporters for killing him. It's an endless cycle. He should have had life in jail, not death sentence.

They should shut him in one of his bunkers with no food or water, gas or electric and concrete over the exit. Anything else would let him go too quickly in my opinion

This is very bad in alot of ways, I only hope George Bush gets remembered as the biggest ******** the world as ever seen and can never go out in public again once he retires . But I don't think the exicution will happen, the rest of the world will complain too much about this. What exactly makes you guys think Saddam is so bad, theres been 100s of thousands of Iraq's been killed by Americans over the years because they are seen as a threat (which they aren't) and Saddam is getting the death penelty for a supposed 140 for the same reason. Americans have killed or caused the death 100's of thousands not 100's. I do have a different opinion and I'm also very suprised, I was shocked to see 60% of Australians think it's good that they gave this verdict and it seems like that 60% is somhow 90% on JC.

What makes him so bad is ordering the deaths of entire families for nothing other than their faiths and beliefs - the same thing that the nazi regime did with the jews although thankfully to date there is no evidence that it's on the same scale. The fact that it happened at all though is cause enough for whats been sentenced.

140 is the tip of the iceberg if even a fraction of the times its reported he did something is true.

I'm not brainwashed by any means, I simply believe that the penalty is suitable for the crime in this instance.

I don't believe the death penalty is ever suitable, that's the whole problem, I also don't believe he should have been removed from power, had the pain and having his Son's murdered and infact should still be running the country but that's another story

Should have got consecutive life sentences, time to think about what he's done then dieing naturally of old age.. killing him I don't agree with no matter how evil he was..

America comes in, takes over things.. then when there's an election looming over their heads: "Surprise! We've made this decision!".. It's all just to make it look like they've achieved so much over in Iraq, but what have they done? Replaced those in power? Didn't do a very good job if they have to hang around until 2014 and kill anyone who opposes.. Then they go and wonder why they have terrorism.. I wouldn't be surprised if there's another attack on America soon (bloody hope not) because of this..

And I do know how bad Saddam was, of coarse I do.. but is it really our place to interfere with the affairs of other nations? It would be like if the ALP won the Australian election, then some other country doesn't like them and kicks them out and puts their own people in power because they disagree with ALPs ways of running the country they were put into power to run.. Saddam did a damned lot for his country, even if he was a murderer

Also America has to protect the countries they have interests in, alliances with and so fourth..

ok what about murderers and rapists that go to jail then somehow get let back into society and then go and perform the same act that put them in their in the first place...sorry but some people just need to be gotten rid of so to speak, you'd be kidding yourself to think that if he had to serve his time behind bars he would be a good little boy, just like most cons they still run stuff on the inside! he'd be no differant.

Every leader is going to be unpopular with some people but he ran the country alot better that it is now, Iraq wont be able to get rid of the American bases now and so will never be that stable again. There are 100 people being killed in Iraq today, yesterday, the day before and tomorrow

I would have lived there when it was stable, I've lived happily in worse places, but of course I wouldn't live there now
