If you wanna not drive a car because something breaks, I recommend walking.
Every brand of car can break down, they're not built to last forever!
So your going to the dark side then.
Im not a complete idiot, some parts are still on backorder!
that explains why you say go go get FORD!
my dads and my brothers ea falcons are the biggest pieces of shit ever built.
both trans leak fluid badly
my dads is so slow and squeaks like all hell
and my brothers also leaks coolant and reguarly gets hot and overheats and it is gold everywhere but both left hand doors they are white cos the cars been in an accident.
FORDS go scrap one.
We got rep back, yaaay!
my 2nd name and my post dosnt actually mean i hate holden, i do love them just veryyyyy annoyed right now.
im well aware things break in cars
My wagz has the squeaks as well, I tightened every screw, nut, bolt, etc I could get to around the console, dash, air vents, etc and a few days later the squeaks and rattles were back again, all part of the fun of owning a Commodore![]()
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?
booo hoo if ur not going to like a manufacturer because of one problem then sell your car and buy a push bike. ANY manufacturer will have a car break down. they r a mechanical device they will break. it is a 98 model that is 8 years old expect it to have probs dont go preaching that we should all go buy fords
I knew someone who picked up a BRAND SPAKIN' NEW 5 series beamer (not the current one, this was at least about 8 or so years back?? not sure exactly), and about a week later it stopped and caught fire...
Mehh.. A car is a car, its got a lot of stuff to make it work, that means its got lots of stuff that can go wrong, plus... an 8(almost 9) year old car, considering its only gonna cost 450 to fix, thats pretty good
But wait... There's more!!
But that's not all!!!

VT Calais II... The Italian Stallion
dont think they are listening
indeed Mike, i am well aware of that, it's just that ALOT of people have told me that Holden are conning me on the BCM, price and problem.
i've heard that it might be a flat battery in the key, and that the BCM is hard to blow, im just annoyed and agitated that the guy who handled my car was just trying to tell me that i was dumb. with the way he looked at me and answering my questions.
he didn't even offer me a copy of the paperwork i signed when they took in my car, i had to ask for one and even then he goes "why, why do you want that for?".
and then refused to tell me that if i didn't want it fixed that i'd still be up for 90$.. he told me that on the phone after he gave me the ammount on the BCM.
when i went back to pick up my keys after i rememeber i wanted to take my cds, the office was unattended and my keys were sitting on the desk!
Thats the thing, if you go to holden theyre going to sqeeze every cent they can out of you... Only difference is if you were to get an import they would squeeze every cent AND THEN SOME...
Holden are expensive, they overcharge, and half the time they dont do the job properly or at all, you have to pay out the ass for labour... But... All car dealers are the same, if not worse. Definatly get second opinions, and if you find somewhere cheaper that is on the up and up, why not
But wait... There's more!!
But that's not all!!!

i can't, i've already told them to do it.
i just hope they are not going to turn around and ask for more money. if they do that i will abuse the crap out of them, they told me, BCM, 450, drive away. i instantly, thought holden, i didnt know of anywhere else to go
Did you post or search the forum about your problem before taking it to a Holden dealer ?

i am defenetly asking for the BCM i am going to demand it
if you get the old BCM, you wont be able to plug it in to see if its faulty as the security link wont be valid.
its not even heavy enough for a paperweight.lol
Rob
Yep so does mine and my brother's VL too.
Gotta love the Commies.![]()
I've had problems with my VL in the past and doubted it, but I still love it, because no car is perfect.![]()
F*** even my dad's VL Calais V8, that was re-built from the ground up, with $40,000 thrown at it, isn't perfect.
