searching a phone number

Just wondering if there is a website like www.whitepages.com.au that you can search a phone number and get the name,
instead of searching for the name to get the number.

There was once a program called greypages, some guy reverse engineered the cd you got with a phone book or something. Since then they've stopped that by encrypting the ###ola out of their data.

Short answer.... Nope, nothing out there that is available unless you wanna make something yourself lol

Yeah ive tried ringing the customer service ppl and asking for the name of a certain number (cos of prank calls, didnt tell them that tho). They said they couldnt because of privacy act 1990 jiba, jiba, jibaaaa, blah, blah, blah.

its avalible exactly as requested, online and all you have to do is put in the number. i think it could be a little out of date though... but it sometimes comes back with a winner

I really don't see why privacy should be an excuse, because with the phone book you have the persons name, address, and phone number, so you still have all the information that you would get if you could search by number.

The only downside is you can't search the number.
