Default the ol drive-in - who still goes?

going to the drive-in tonight to see jackass 2 and DOA, $12 it's going to cost (me thinks that bloody cheap), anyway thats not the point, who actually still goes to the ol drive-in? i never hear of people saying lets go to the drive in, it's always the cinema's but lately i've found to go to the cinema's it almost cost's you an arm and a leg.

anyway who still goes? and what do you recon the best thing about them is...

    cheers all

Still go to Lunar Drive In in Dandenong, great thing is you can buy your snacks, etc from the Ritchies IGA just down the road and also you don't have other %^&@heads talking throughout the movies, etc

So rather than paying $60 plus for two people, food, drinks, etc to see one movie you pay around $35 dollars and get two movies so IMO bargain !!
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?

they still have active drive in's ?
i used to love going to the drive in as a kid, when i was around 6 or 7 yrs old my old man was a member of the northern beaches rod club. once a monthe they would do a cruise to a drive in have their meetings and watch a flick.
it was soooo cool seeing all those hot rods and customs everywhere.

We still go infact thats the only time we got to the movies, it works out cheaper and easier especially with young kids. Although there are hardly any of them around these days I only know of 2 in nsw, blacktown and bass hill.

I remember reading somewhere just after Lunar opened in Dandenong that it was the first drive-in to be built in the Southern Hemisphere for many years, shame there aren't more of them around but Lunar is a lot closer than Dromana or Coburg for me

baring in mind i live very very very close to the drive in you speak off, the only thing i can sugest is for a perfect place to park, if looking at field 1, park on the right hand side of the drive inbuilding.
if looking at field 2, park on the left hand side of building. all to do with angle of the field and screen.
dont eat anything from the yatala drive in, it's insainly expensive, it's worse than the actual movie theater

    cheers
